Angelic Forgiveness vs Aziraphale’s forgiveness

I keep going back to the parallel’s of these two scene because it kills me every time I think about it. But I adore this subtle difference here. This isn’t Aziraphale forgiving Crowley for sinning, or blaspheming, or insulting the Great Plan. This is Aziraphale forgiving Crowley for walking away and for leaving him, both back at the gazebo and now, because Aziraphale is saying that he can’t run away with him.

Crowley: Should I say thank you? I know how hard this was for you.

Aziraphale: Better not. It was.

Crowley: Well, can I drop you anywhere? Never mind the fact that you can miracle, I don’t want you to go yet. It’s been too long.

Aziraphale: No, thank you. Oh, don’t look so disappointed. Perhaps one day we could…I don’t know. Go for a picnic. Dine at the Ritz. I know what you’re asking, and I’m sorry. I can’t. Not yet.

Crowley: I’ll give you a lift. Anywhere you want to go. We can do those now, Angel. Picnic. Ritz. Anything. Just say the word and I’ll get us there.

Aziraphale: You go too fast for me, Crowley. I’m just not ready yet, I’m sorry.
