Headcanon inspired by today.
Every year on Father’s Day, the Delightful Children go collecting tribute for Father. Until the current sector V started fighting back, it largely went unopposed because on Father’s Day, Father is at his strongest so you should fear - er, I mean, LOVE him like you should.
This is a big fat lie Father spent YEARS spreading. He is, in fact, at his weakest and on Father’s Day, his powers don’t work.
Because Father Day is meant to celebrate, yknow, actually good Fathers…
Let me add that he might also not know of he should do something for his own dad, you know, the worst dad in fictional existence that is Grandfather.
Ben would totally want to make his dad proud or happy in some way but also, going to see him also implies facing the old man and after everything he’s don’t to Ben, that’s not easy. Yes I’m aware that GF is decommissioned but I still headcanon that he would still have moment of clarity sometimes and would still trash talk/hurt Ben anyway.
Besides, Ben would be jealous of his brother (like always): seeing Monty being a perfect dad effortlessly is just the final straw for Ben.
So yeah, Father’s Day is like, the worst day for Ben but of course he wouldn’t let that appear to anyone.
