The authors are going with their own story, even if we played the game, I’m sure there will be plot twists (whether they’re good or not, we’ll see).
I may be super late, but the fifth volume of the Twilight Princess manga just came out for me and I couldn’t help but notice a few things.
I know that the mangas are not canon to the games but it seems the authors of the mangas decided to have their own continuity by making a huge reference to Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.
First, it seems here that TP Zelda has memories of her previous life as OoT Zelda: the characters from the scene in the picture are totally OoT Link and Ganondorf.
Second, about the Skull Kid : it has been for a long time speculated that he was the same Skull Kid as the one we meet in OoT (when we sell the mask and teach him Saria’s song) and by extension, the same Skull Kid in Majora’s Mask. In the picture, he says ‘you finally came back!’ because OoT/MM Link promised him to see him again (in the manga at least).
Ok, I just check with Hyrule Historia and they didn’t confirmed if the OoT/MM Skull Kid is the same as the TP Skull Kid. This fan theory makes sense if you ask me, and Akira Himekawa used it for TP manga and I like it. Even at the start of MM manga the theory of the person Link is looking for (Navi) wasn’t confirmed that it was really Navi. It was announced in Hyrule Historia, many years after the release of the manga. Akira Himekawa got this one right.
