(Y/N) sent Ada Shelby a look that asked 'where is he?' the second the latter opened the door. Ada answered with a head nod to the left, which conveyed the answer of 'he's in there'. A glance over the Shelby woman's shoulder confirmed it - Tommy was sitting at the table in the front room. His back was to the door, so he hadn't noticed that she arrived...yet.

K, that was wonderful. I love a bit of angst and you certainly delivered.

I love the way they met; I can completely understand being lost for words if I opened a door to Tommy. And good on YN for telling him exactly how she felt, he needed a bit of a wakeup call.

And the ending! It was so soft and warm and cosy. I loved it. But I'm feeling there could be more to this! A part 2 would definitely not go astray.

I love how you write Tommy in this, you always write him so amazingly! You depict him as being human so well, in the show I thought he was way too good at acting like he wasn’t; it’s so lovely to see him like that in this. And I loved the reader, when he was tying to break it off I thought, Oh she’s not going to go along with that! 😆

@fallatyourfeet Lou, that opening was filled with such terrific suspense, I could hardly breathe! It's no wonder Tommy worried for his lover's safety afterward. My heart ached for him as he attempted to protect her the only way he knew how. The subtle details of his goodbye made me teary eyed. When she notices his lateness for example?? 😢 It's a gut wrenching decision you've dramatized beautifully. I anticipated her tears, perhaps a screaming match as Tommy deflects with a fight? But you delivered a much more satisfying conclusion as she stands her ground (and tells him to shut up?!?) This is surely a power couple in the making! Ty for sharing their tale.
