i’m so done with people saying “heartstopper doesn’t authentically represent gen z queerness because of the lack of sex” in the holy mother of god charlie is fifteen in season two. i know that some fifteen year olds do have sex, but let me face you with reality, not each and every one of them. i know you’re used to twenty-fire year olds playing teenagers and doing the most insane shit ever in shows, but that just isn’t what most people’s teenage years actually look like. and the statement “neither of them even raises the idea of doing anything more” is just false. did you even watch the show? nick literally says he’s not ready for anything more. can you not believe that not all teenage couples are physically intimate? and anyways, if you really have a problem with this, read the webcomic. nick and charlie do have sex a year after the happenings of season two.
i don’t know if it’s just me, but the fact that you’re complaining about not being able to watch fifteen and sixteen year olds having sex says something about you.
if you don’t find it realistic, hell, even if it isn’t realistic, why make such a big deal about it? don’t drag this show down, because it makes many people’s lives so much better. i am happier because these books and show exist, and i’m pretty sure that most people in this fandom could say the same.

the heartstopper playlist feels like stepping on crunchy leaves it’s so idyllic and just immaculate
this scene is indescribably beautiful. charlie feeling safe enough to open up about his bullying for the first time to anyone. nick making him promise to say something if he ever feels that bad again, and not making him promise to never harm himself again, knowing that it’s an impossible promise to make. charlie promising him. nick almost uttering the words “i love you”.
apart from the specific scenes we got in hstv s2 about Charlie's mental health i would like to mention how the word "perfect" is so important for Charlie because it's common for people with OCD to be like that and this (wanting everything to be "perfect" or in control) was something that wasn't on the comics so I'm glad we're getting hints about his OCD (mostly because people always forget he has it and only cara about his ed which is also VERY important but it actually gets attention)
