If heartstopper was made in the 90s do you think people woulve still like the show?
i think to the queer people it would’ve reached, it would’ve been so important and just like.. life-changing to see the non-toxic and stereotype-free represenation especially because the characters are so young. i think it would’ve gotten cancelled after the first season because of the general homophobia. but it’d be iconic even to this day and every queer people would watch it
the way nick looks at charlie makes me want to pull out all my hair strand by strand
something about nick paying attention to charlie and noticing he wasn’t feeling well. something about nick doing everything in his power to get charlie help. something about nick asking his aunt for advices on how to express his concerns. something about charlie being anxious about saying the words “i love you” and nick repeating it back without hesitation. something about nick helping charlie talk to his parents about his mental health. something about nick respecting charlie’s body-shyness. something about charlie finally feeling confident with nick and taking his shirt off. something about nick being charlie’s safe place.

charlie has such an amazing support system. tori saw he was struggling. isaac noticed he wasn’t feeling well. his parents did their best to help him. tao made a documentary for him so he felt included. elle painted a picture for him. nick did everything in his power for charlie to feel better. his teachers were waiting for him to get back.
heartstopper shows that being surrounded by loving and helpful people is one of the most important parts of recovery.
heartstopper is one of the most impactful shows in our generation. it helps people who have trouble with coming to terms with their sexuality. people who struggle with their mental health. it portrays eating disorders, self-harm and ocd accurately. it shows how to support someone who is not feeling well, how hard it is to watch someone we love struggle, and how important it is to ask for help and just talk about our problems. it shows that doctors can help.
it gives people hope about getting better.
so we all agree that this season will destroy us then build us back together as entirely different people?

sooo… do y’all think we’re getting the scene where nick is in the shower when charlie says “i love you” then runs away and then nick runs after him with barely any clothes on, no shoes?
cause if we are, i’m going insane.
the scene in heartstopper where the rainbow is reaching out to ben but he recoils and walks away has the same effect on me as the scene with david and his father when he asks if david is going back to edinburgh and david has to correct him and say “glasgow”. because while i despise both of them deeply, my heart broke a little.
