Anonymous on tumblr: do you have a skin that would mimic the author’s notes and review/kudos buttons section from the end of a fic? the desired effect being that the fic could go on after the “end” of the fic, so after the author’s notes and review/kudos buttons

I am 99% sure I’m going to nominate Raksura and Cinders to go with 7KPP … is anyone else working on them, so I don’t duplicate the characters too badly?

I mean, if I didn’t organize with anyone, I would just go with Jade, Chime, Moon, and Stone, but clearly having more options would be better. (BUT SO MANY OPTIONS. WHO DO I WANT MOST? IDK. I just don’t know.)

Ile-Rien is pretty great too, but I’ve finagled a couple people into reading Raksura this year, so I feel I should encourage that more? (Also I need to do a re-read and see if I can throw some more info on the wiki, ‘cause I love how much detail is in the books/world and it’s just not reflected there yet.)

I haven’t finished Cinders yet otherwise I’d probably be squeeing right there with you. ;) But yes. RAKSURA.

Okay so if you nominate Jade, Chime, Moon, and Stone, then should I nominate four others? Maybe Pearl, Malachite, um… Heart would be interesting, and… gah, I’m blanking on other names. Suggestions?

So You Want To Get Published.

I’m keeping this for anytime someone wants to know how you get published. I’ll just whip this out and hand it to them instead of correcting their assumptions that I approached editors directly with my manuscript like people do in movies.

This is how writing/revising/publishing actually happens. 

"No it’s not. Get some feedback." is the bit I wish I wish I wish more people listened to more often, with the caviate "Constructive crit is a) not a personal attack b) not negative feedback and c) the most useful tool you can get to see your precious baby from a new perspective and decide if changes would make it a better story."

Hint: your goal is to make the best story you can make it. For serious. No, I’m not kidding. No, but seriously.
