Hi peeps! Me and my classmate are working on a research strategy for a peer reviewed paper we are about to write that will cover LGBTQ+ representation within animated feature films. One of my good friends just came out to her boyfriend about being ace. She was so worried about it, and she’s used to having to explain what asexuality even is, even before she can worry about getting acceptance for it. 

So she asked him if he knew what that meant, and he was like, “Oh, yeah! One of my favorite characters on TV is ace! (Todd, from BoJack Horseman) I get that,” and it just made her entire coming out to him so much easier and more accepting and she’s so much happier now.

Just. Like. Representation matters.

Tumblr needs to learn the difference between queerbaiting and censored queer relationships:   Queerbaiting: creators teasing you, making you hope that a certain pairing is queer and giving fanservice once or twice, never confirming said relationship, implying but then saying that “no, they aren’t together”. Censored queer relationship: confirmed by creators, kisses and general couple stuff not shown because hey in many countries they would cancel the show if they showed two girls kissing, don’t act like that’s a news.
