Brother, don’t make me do this.
#I’m always really grotesquely impressed by Lucifer’s capacity to reapportion blame#Like it’s God’s fault for not loving Lucifer enough #for not letting Lucifer love Him the way Lucifer wanted to #It’s humanity’s fault that they lack redeeming qualities #It’s Gabriel’s fault that Lucifer broke his own heart by burying a dagger in his little brother’s chest. #He tries to tell Castiel that they’re the same and he’s wrong for many reasons #but I think this is a really big one. Castiel is fighting for free will #but Lucifer doesn’t exercise free will.#Exercising free will requires you to make decisions and be responsible for them #but Lucifer just reacts unfavorably to the decisions that other people make and refuses to accept that he could have done anything differently. #He doesn’t want free will he just wants the rules to favor him.
