So tumblr’s getting a bit weird lately

I’ll properly make a list of where you can find me in a few days.

Pillowfort might be an option and drai suggested a nsfw twitter to go with my existing Twitter. I’ve been thinking of starting an art insta too with the way things are looking.

I’ve only just heard about the new guidelines so I will be shutting down my nsfw tumblr by the 17th - I’ll post on there where you can find my nsfw stuff before I do tho.

And I understand that Patreon is not financially viable for everything but there is that option too as all my nsfw gets posted there.

Honestly I feel kind of like I want to do a bit of recon with the friends I have on here too and find where they’ll be setting up because it’s looking like everyone is a bit unsure right now of where they stand with tumblr what with blogs getting deleted left and right so

boo on them for treating people like that. Fan’s are the reason this site runs.

I’ll do a proper list when I know better myself but it’s pretty safe to assume it will be some variation of this name anyway.

When I was learning how to cook for myself in my tweens, I had at least a five years of fire safety seminars from school drilling this into my head, and I STILL had that instinctive put-the-fire-out-with-water reflex. Didn’t even think. I saw our oily burner catch fire after frying eggs, whipped around towards the sink for water, and my brain immediately screamed NO!!! NO WATER! I mean that fire safety stuff straight up bitchslapped me out of REFLEXIVELY setting my house on fire. I found a pot lid and inched it over the burner before turning off the heat. Even if you think you know this stuff, panic is powerful shit. Make knowledge more powerful.

okay so apparently when people die on mt everest they just leave the bodies there bc retrieval isnt possible and theres an estimated 200 bodies just like UP there and bc its so cold and oxygenless the bodies are perfectly preserved and people use them AS LANDMARKS most famously this one guy named green boots (so called bc hes wearing green boots and they dont know who he is) oh my god thats so fucked up???? why do people keep climbing this death mountain???? why cant we invent a way to get the bodies down we can go to fucking space but not the top of a mountain apparently???? oh my god????

one: i’m a hobby climber. i’ve never climbed everest and I’m never fucking going to because it is so death mountain

Delphine LaLaurie was a sadistic socialite who lived in New Orleans. Her home was a chamber of horrors. On April 10, 1834, a fire broke out in the mansion’s kitchen, and firefighters found two slaves chained to the stove. They appeared to have started the fire themselves, in order to attract attention. The firefighters were lead by other slaves to the attic, where the real surprise was. Over a dozen disfigured and maimed slaves were manacled to the walls or floors. Several had been the subjects of gruesome medical experiments. One man appeared to be part of some bizarre sex change, a woman was trapped in a small cage with her limbs broken and reset to look like a crab, and another woman with arms and legs removed, and patches of her flesh sliced off in a circular motion to resemble a caterpillar. Some had had their mouths sewn shut, and had subsequently starved to death, whilst others had their hands sewn to different parts of their bodies. Most were found dead, but some were alive and begging to be killed, to release them from the pain. LaLaurie fled before she could be bought to justice – she was never caught.

Actually, even the Wiki article says that many of these particular claims are unsourced and unsupported by sensationalist writers.  There was a fire, there were tortured slaves, and she did flee mob violence after the fire.  What LaLaurie (and perhaps her family) did to other human beings (this constant use of the word “slave” dehumanizes her victims—they were people) is abominable and gruesome enough without being turned into some morbid B-horror extreme horror film.  It seems she was exaggerated as an example of a “bad” slave owner, so all the other white people could feel good about themselves as they enslaved other human beings.  At the jail, the local authorities even put her victims on display for other white people to look at, no doubt so they could take smug sadistic pleasure from seeing these poor injured people who needed medical and psychological attention.  That’s pretty fucked up, too.

For what seems to be more accurate information on LaLaurie, this book by Carolyn Morrow Long is probably going to be your best bet.  Long used to work for the Smithsonian, so that’s something.
