Women in Refrigerators Syndrome describes the use of the death or injury of a female character as a plot device in a story starring a male character. Cases of it deal with a gruesome injury or murder of a female character at the hands of a supervillain, usually as a motivating personal tragedy for a male superhero to whom the victim is connected. The death or injury of the female character then helps cement the hatred between the hero and the villain responsible. (x)
ENDLESS LIST OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS: ABIGAIL HOBBS
In the dream I wonder how I can live with myself, knowing what I did. And when you’re awake? When I’m awake I know I can live with myself. That I’ll just get used to what I did. Does that make me a sociopath? No. It makes you a survivor.
But you’re not my father.
hannibal ladies aesthetics: abigail hobbs
“All those girls your dad killed… did you fish… or did you hunt, Abigail?”
Abigail & autumn colors for joandawson
casual reminder that abigail only died because gillian was free one extra day. now that we’ve seen the complete and utter fiasco that was the florence arc, i dare someone to justify replacing abigail with bedelia. go on. defend that decision. i’m dying to hear it.
H A N N I B A L + T I T A N S
you know when bev died everyone raised the feminist flag and said it was brutal and disgusting and wrong but now abigail was killed off (to generate manpain) like a toy and NO ONE says a word she was a child she was abused she was hurt
Well, we all want what’s best for Abigail.
Abigail Hobbs from Hannibal. My top two priorities on that show are: Abigail being OK and Freddie Lounds’ hair getting screen time.
tell me your d e s i g n. tell me who you are.
an abigail hobbs fanmix – listen
there’s a big difference between “i’m sad because a character i was emotionally invested in was killed off” and “this character’s death served no purpose, was used for shock value, and is the product of bad writing and i’m upset about that”
if i lay hereif i just lay here will my fave characters come back from the dead
I’m so sorry, Abigail. I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you in this life.
