I knew I had to get photos before leaving the Arizona desert and @thatseanguyblogs was good enough to play photographer since I missed my chance with a professional.

CALLING ALL WOMEN OF COSPLAY: YOU’RE INVITED TO THEMYSCIRA!

Themyscira is a facebook group for women involved in cosplay at all levels (cosplayers, costumers, crafters, photographers, conventioneers, etc) to join in a community of women for women. 

The group is a SAFE and POSITIVE space dedicated to “everything from anti-harassment tips to makeup help.” One of the primary goals of the group is to promote con-safety, especially in regards to harassment of female attendees and online security and positivity. The group is currently in discussion of ways to bring the group presence to the convention scene in the forms of safe areas and badges to designate places and people who are ready to help if you find yourself in an uncomfortable or dangerous situation. It also is an active community of women making themselves available with cosplay advice and resources.

"At Themyscira’s core is the resolve that whenever you need help for absolutely anything, you are never running to safety but being strengthened by a sisterhood." 

The group includes a running resource list of member’s pages (for cosplay, photographing, costuming etc) as well as a list of recommended vendors (photographers and such that members will vouch for). 

If you are interested in joining, please visit the Facebook page and ask to join. Unless you are invited by a current member, there will be some delay to your acceptance. Because the group is a safe space, any members asking to join rather than being invited will be checked out before admins before being accepted. If you are accepted, please be sure the read the rules of the group first!

So I came up with this great idea for a fake beard using fiber mascara and I realized there were no tutorials out there for this already. So I made one myself. It works really well and is very realistic!!
