Don’t let me down
“If you can hold them off for another ten minutes or so, this leg will be healed.” She smiled at the hubris she laced into the comment. “Then I’ll go out there and finish it once and for all. Just don’t let anyone in through that door.” She nodded toward their entrance. If the building didn’t collapse on them before then, it would be a miracle.
“Just ten minutes, cool?”
Eriu’s eyes narrowed as she was trying to process what she’s just heard, her mouth opened and closed a few times before any cound came out. There was no way she could hold it off for this long. “Ten minutes?!” And right as it has, another blast shook the building. This time the missile hit the entrance wall. The stone crumbled with a deafening roar, and pieces of it were thrown out in all directions like shrapnel.
Inconveniently enough, a chipped piece of rock wall managed to nick her before she could get to cover or even react. A sharp pain pierced her shoulder, even more so as she fell onto it trying to dodge the larger pieces. With a quiet groan she pulled the sharp chip of rock out of the wound and threw it at Sif’s feet, or at least where she thought Sif to be, as another thick cloud of dust filled the air. “Ten—”, she coughed, “.... minutes!”
The dust didn’t have to settle for it to be obvious, as suddenly it was much lighter inside - some fifty percent of their cover was gone. Fortunately enough, this time Eriu could deduce from the damage the general direction from which the attack was coming.
