THAT BLINK IS A BLINK OF REALIZATION. he closes his eyes and before he closes them, he sees cas, cas his friend, cas someone very special to him, cas who he thought he’d lost /forever and is so /relieved to have found again - but still just cas. but then he opens his eyes and suddenly somebody entirely different is looking back at him - cas his /love and and cas his /heart and cas his /everything. and he’s so taken by surprise because he never expected to see that, least of all now, in this moment that already has so many emotions associated with it, and that’s why he does that little eyebrow raise, his eyes widening because he knew that if he ever saw cas again it would be more than he could handle but he never fucking expected this and it just takes his breath away with how /much he feels in that moment, all these feelings cascading over him at once and colliding into a single ‘of course…’
