Hc that Ballister's armour was his father's, because if he has to impersonate a villain he might as well dress as the cruelest person he has ever known.

If the portrait is missing Bal's mom it's because in this version his dad became a jerk after losing his wife. It's meant to be a cool parallelism of them both turning to devious behaviours after losing the love of their lives (although Ballister isn't really evil and his mom didn't mutilate her hubby)

Also, I can't help but feel like Bal's a little goofy looking, I always struggle with frontal view 😭
