Ethan created "Is This Home" as a concept concert telling a story in which he used songs from the stage (including Phantom, Beauty and the Beast, Jekyll and Hyde, Pippin, Nine and Mozart!) The story is about a former musical genius turned homeless recluse, Jakob Stein, who learns to trust humanity again with the help of a social worker played by his wife Monika.
The story was written by Ethan as were two songs used in the show "Good Morning" and "In The Dark".

In 2001 Ethan took on the role of Leopold Mozart in Mozart! Das Musical in Hamburg. A role he returned to in 2008 in Tecklenburg.
