Escher Girls

While sourcing something, I ran into this old Avengelyne/Glory swimsuit cover with the real life models in the same poses that the two were in on the covers of their crossover comics, and because they're in the same poses, I feel like it's a great way to compare like what the real life models in the same poses (and also being like of comparative conventional attractiveness) look like next to the comic book versions.

The insectoid-like nature of the comic versions is even more stark in comparison to real humans o_o;;; Also interesting to note how clothing works irl versus in the comic covers.

While reading through this issue, I originally was just drawn to this panel because of Pandora/War Goddess' strange sideways centaur pose in the back, but the more I look at it the stranger the entire panel gets, from knife girl's anti-gravity dress support and her weird legs to the fact that she's just kind of staring at nothing, not looking at either the person she's talking to or the head she's peeling. It looks as if she's watching TV or something except that's not what's happening in the comic. Also, the candle for her magical chemistry set on the table looks like a birthday cake which adds to the whole panel being so odd and unintentionally amusing.

Two people submitted the same picture so I put both in the same post. I assume a lot of people must be getting this ad on Tumblr right now given that I got both submissions in one day, so I'm bumping this up in the queue.

I have this strange feeling I'm about to get a bunch of Echocalypse submissions.

Both pictures in this ad have been on this blog before as separate images, the woman who needs a staff and chains to lift her breasts up is in this post in a slightly different oufit.

And the woman with the sandbag boobs is in a post from a couple weeks ago where people argued in the comments whether or not the ad is AI generated due to the weird and asymmetrical detailing of the gold lace on her arm and top.

I never put together that they were supposed to be the same woman until this ad. I love that her breast physics work in two completely different ways in each picture and apparently filled with different substances, possibly a gas in the left one.

I think that their arms are actually like not pipecleaners and appear to have some muscle just makes the snake body with the breasts attached to the collars look so much weirder.

Also, off-topic, but I keep thinking they're sitting next to a bunch of plastic spikes then realizing that's the water.

She's a true Halloween villain because she steals people's gourds and escapes by smuggling them in her shirt, vacuum-sealing them so they stay fresh.  Because that's the only thing that could be happening in her chestal area there right.

After I posted the Goddess of Victory: Nikke picture a couple days ago which I said looked like a bowling ball on top of a joystick, @getintheboxsteven helpfully provided a video version of the character and what she looks like in movement, and it's even more disturbing. o_o;;;

Just ow, all the body pains. ;-;

Those are lasers!? I thought they were like strings and she was a broken marionette or something... it would make more sense tbh. Also, for a second I thought her breast was like one of Mickey Mouse's ears.

Anyway her breasts are clearly balloons and that's why she's trying her best to avoid the lasers or they'll pop.

And here's the stuff from Let's Draw Manga Sexy Gals I mentioned last post with the funny anatomy.

So first we have the always popular anime flying boobs which I guess you have to learn if you want to draw them dodging bullets.  I especially love the comment "note the effect of these lines."  Oh we're noting them.  Again this is part of the very funny thing the book does of pretending it's not just drawing hentai and that it's the LINES people would be noting. 

And for the second one, I guess it's useful to learn how to draw a woman relaxing after she's drowned her friend (or maybe something else is happening under the water?) because those are not her legs.

Or as my bestie said when she saw that image "when you're a girl but also about to be soup."

Her breasts being separately encased and hovering on her chest are one thing, that's almost normal at this point, but her legs look like one is being sucked into her butt and the mass is being transferred to the other one which is stretched out and apparently warping behind that dragon???

They should call her "Plasticine" instead of "Jade".

I was going through the archives to find posts for the "best of Escher Girls" anniversary special and ended up finding a lot of "Soul Saga" submissions from the very beginning of this blog (2011) that I had to fix up and source and I found an extended version of one of the covers so I thought this would be a perfect collection to showcase, especially since a lot of people didn't see the posts back when they were put up.

So, first off, we have the infamous "neverending pelvis" cover that started the tag.  It's... very confusing and kind of horrifying.  

But also, there's an extended version of the cover, featuring a very angry and pouty grey elf(?) girl who, understandably, doesn't look pleased to be squeezed into a bustier 20x too small for her and apparently superglued to her nipples.

At least her crotch isn't being sucked into a singularity, so that's something right.

Then we have another variant with a blonde princess(?) being saved by a guy which looks less like he's saving a person and more like he just stole a life-size statue given her lower torso and legs looking more like a statue base than legs.  Also why does everybody in this space fantasy future only wear little cheese triangles that cover the bottoms of their breasts.  I guess they're future space bras with special anti-grav tech.

And finally, we have warrior space princess(?) who apparently cannot fight without having her butt facing the enemy, and whose powers emanate from her breast and butt flesh because I guess that's why she has to wear the little battle pasties and a painfully pulled up metal(?) battle thong?  Ouch.  So painful to even think about.  Also cold.

This sci-fi future seems very uncomfortable for women.

She's either been bisected under her breasts, or her breasts, head, and shoulders are all growing out of the side of her torso.  Or her torso is growing out of the side of her breasts since they might be the only actual living organism in this picture given how they're standing up like that.
