While sourcing something, I ran into this old Avengelyne/Glory swimsuit cover with the real life models in the same poses that the two were in on the covers of their crossover comics, and because they're in the same poses, I feel like it's a great way to compare like what the real life models in the same poses (and also being like of comparative conventional attractiveness) look like next to the comic book versions.

The insectoid-like nature of the comic versions is even more stark in comparison to real humans o_o;;; Also interesting to note how clothing works irl versus in the comic covers.

Yay more Jade Warriors. >_>

This is the visual analogue of a wall of noise.  I can barely process what's going on to even note like... all the rubber anatomy and boobs and butts and how one of the girls is turning into a potato in the top right panel of the first image.

Also those sound effects just adding to the clutter in the 2nd image.  My head hurts. x_x

More from Soul Saga. featuring battle pasties space princess and her talking boobs!  The focus of that panel on the upper left is just hilarious to me.  It really is like the most important thing to look at is her chest while she's talking.

Also, she has the same face as the main character's sister, who is the only female character in the entire story that apparently paid for the chest armor DLC.  And of course, she dies in the first issue.  Ah, comic books, never change.

I was going through the archives to find posts for the "best of Escher Girls" anniversary special and ended up finding a lot of "Soul Saga" submissions from the very beginning of this blog (2011) that I had to fix up and source and I found an extended version of one of the covers so I thought this would be a perfect collection to showcase, especially since a lot of people didn't see the posts back when they were put up.

So, first off, we have the infamous "neverending pelvis" cover that started the tag.  It's... very confusing and kind of horrifying.

But also, there's an extended version of the cover, featuring a very angry and pouty grey elf(?) girl who, understandably, doesn't look pleased to be squeezed into a bustier 20x too small for her and apparently superglued to her nipples.

At least her crotch isn't being sucked into a singularity, so that's something right.

Then we have another variant with a blonde princess(?) being saved by a guy which looks less like he's saving a person and more like he just stole a life-size statue given her lower torso and legs looking more like a statue base than legs.  Also why does everybody in this space fantasy future only wear little cheese triangles that cover the bottoms of their breasts.  I guess they're future space bras with special anti-grav tech.

And finally, we have warrior space princess(?) who apparently cannot fight without having her butt facing the enemy, and whose powers emanate from her breast and butt flesh because I guess that's why she has to wear the little battle pasties and a painfully pulled up metal(?) battle thong?  Ouch.  So painful to even think about.  Also cold.

This sci-fi future seems very uncomfortable for women.

Anyway, the links in the above link to the original posts if you want to see those too.  I hope everybody enjoyed this retrospective on some of the earliest stuff posted on Escher Girls and thank you for reading! (I can't believe it's already been 13 years)

"It's the loading screen of a character named Seraphina on the mobile game 'Langrisser M'"

She's either been bisected under her breasts, or her breasts, head, and shoulders are all growing out of the side of her torso.  Or her torso is growing out of the side of her breasts since they might be the only actual living organism in this picture given how they're standing up like that.

Escher Girls September 2024 Caption Contest!

While restoring old "War Goddess" posts, I ran into this cover of War Goddess #0 which I thought was perfect for a caption contest.  I thought about saving it for October since it's a Haloween theme, but I have some other ideas for October, so let's just do this one now because I have a feeling you will all have some great captions for it.

Anyway, so... caption this! What's happening?  What's she saying/doing?  The caption can be narration or dialogue or poem or whatever you want.  Be creative! Be funny!

Winners can claim a prize from their choice of Steam codes I've gathered through the years, but you do not have to play for prizes, you can just play for fun if you want!  No pressure!  The number of winners will be determined by the number of entries.

As usual, you can submit your captions to me using Disqus comments below, on Tumblr using reblog, reply or DM, or by emailing me at [email protected].  You can also send me your captions on Fedi/Mastodon if you use that.

The contest will run for 2 weeks and close at the end of Friday, September 20, and winners will be announced on Sunday (the 22).

Good luck everybody!  Have fun!

My friends and I were going through this comic and besides just how busy every single page is, and the weird duct tape battle bikini and thong the main character is wearing, or that she looks like a rubber band in every panel, or that the biblical Eve apparently had makeup, hairstyling, and breast implants, which at this point I'm kinda numb to, what's really amusing is that every single female character has the EXACT same face.

And mostly it's the same gritted teeth expression regardless of if the character is fighting, getting hit, eating an apple, or just talking.

It's actually quite amazing how consistent that one facial expression is. xD  (If the face looks familiar, it's because it's also the same face from a bunch of Supergirl comics that's been on this blog before, and it's the same one that Supergirl, Raven, Black Canary, and others had in them.)

If you're shaped like a terrifying Tetris block (or centaur missing forelegs), does that make you a kind of biblically correct angel?

While fixing up this old post of a League of Angels II ad, I found a larger HD version of the picture they used (which was actually also mentioned in the Disqus comments of that post that I think I didn't notice back then), and since it hasn't been on this blog before and the original post is so old that most people probably haven't seen it before, I figured I'd share it now.  You're welcome (or I'm sorry, whichever applies).

I don't even know if the "battle bikini" tag qualifies here.  This is more like battle pasties? Paramilitary pasties? Combat modesty duct-tape?  It looks like an uncomfortable time, regardless.

Also, on the random "modesty coverage" thing, what are those on her feet?  Are they socks?  Shoes?  Are her feet randomly covered up in the astral realm because the artist didn't want to draw feet, or because they wanted to cover her up from the feet enthusiasts?

I guess if that's a battle bikini, those are skirmish socks.
