The wind beats against the tent. Sansa shudders, then begins to sing again, the words spilling out of her mouth and into the cold air of her and Brienne’s shelter. As if answering her song, a wolf howl rises above the wind that blasts through the frozen hills and wraps around the tent like an icy blanket. A ghost wolf, heard but unseen, she thinks.

After Brienne frees her from the Vale, Sansa sets them on a course north to the Wall, to Jon Snow.

‘‘She had always imagined the Night’s Watch to be men like Uncle Benjen. In the songs, they were called the black knights of the Wall. But this man had been crookbacked and hideous, and he looked as though he might have lice. If this was what the Night’s Watch was truly like, she felt sorry for her bastard half brother, Jon’ - Sansa AGOT

Do you remember those kidney pies...? The comfort food

Season 6 episode 4

Sansa: “Do you remember those kidney pies Old Nan used to make?”

Jon: “The ones with the peas and onions?”

As both, Jon and Sansa are reminiscing, smiling for a brief, very brief moment.I found that specific subject fascinating because Sansa brings up the topic of food, a particular food they both shared that she recollected, not lemon cakes that were well-known how she liked them. Sansa specifically mentioned a mutual comfort food.  A “Comfort Food” is a familiar food that a person eats because doing so relieves stress and anxiety and increases contentment and comfort (hence the name). It sparks happy memories, brings back feelings of security and safety, and thus can easily lift a person’s mood.

Again I wondered if she felt secured and safe now that she was with Jon.

Then that brief moment, peace is interrupted with…

Jon: “We never should have left Winterfell.”

Also, note:

We never should have left Winterfell.”

As opposed to ‘I’.

At this point, all of Jon’s plans had changed and he made that very clear. It would always be Sansa with him from thereon. This is another romance trope often used in movies, TV shows - you know, the kind where the hero wants to make sure the damsel is safe and sound always, and near him. 🤷🤔
