no offence but why would i watch the new series when i can just replay Y0 instead 😌
listen i love Kiryu with all my heart but this forced parental relationship they keep pushing between him and Daigo piss me the fuck off like this is so fucking disrespectful to Majima who reigned in Daigo's little emo ass since '0 fucking 6 and was actually THERE to support him every step of the way when he was made Chairman. like how does the cutesy moments Kiryu and Daigo shared back when he was a snot-nosed kid lay the foundation for Kiryu being a damn father figure to him when Goro Majima is RIGHT FUCKING THERE!?!?
#TACHIKIRYU / #MAJIMAKO : I won’t melt, I won’t cry
Nah but it's so funny to me how Kiryu ugly sobs and screams his lungs out and cradles Tachibana so close in his arms and refuses to part with him even as his sister comes close to hold him during his death scene but with Yumi (who's supposed to be the love of his life apparently lmao) he doesn't even shed a single tear when she dies like ?????? Sir????
God I just finished chapter 14 of Y0 and Tachikiryu shippers I GET IT NOW GOD I was such an idiot to nor see this before.
There's so much I want to say about their relationship in the later sections of the game (and even analyse Tachioda while we're at it) but goddamnit if I think for more than 2 minutes about the blatant parallels between Tachikiryu (+ Oda) and Majimako (+ Sagawa) I just might go insane holy shit HOLY SHIT
Also this makes me wonder if Kazumaji ever bonded over their complicated feelings for the Makimura siblings.
Okay but has anyone ever wondered why some of the popular locations that are present on the maps of both Kamurocho and Sotenbori like "Maharaja" disco and "Gandhara" video shop have Indian origin names??
Like Maharaja means "King" or "Emperor" in many Indian languages while Gandhara is an important kingdom in the main plotline of the ancient mythological epic Mahabharata, located near the northwest part of the Indian subcontinent.
So, I wonder what prompted the creators to name these places these very random things? And why these two in particular? Is there a real life connection here as well, as with everything else in Yakuza? Was there an active (and presumably wealthy) Indian community in Japan's nightlife scene in the 80s and 90s? Or is it just to seem worldly and exotic?
I need answers, SEGA. Belonging to perhaps one of the rarest nationalities to play Yakuza, I NEED ANSWERS.
Happy Pride to Kokoa’s Dad 🏳️🌈
Lmaoooo this substory was so much fun and just so very gay. One of Majima's potential options when Koko asked him to be her "boyfriend" was "I'm not interested in women!" And then he goes on to bond real nicely with her dad (to the point of accidentally seducing him instead please 🙏)
no. listen. fucking Listen. majima is the cinderella in 24-hour cinderella and makoto is the prince this is not some queer subtextual extrapolation this is just text.
majima, a dirt-poor indentured servant kept in check by an evil stepmother (shimano) and stepsister(s) (sagawa, and you could reach a little and say nishitani is the other one but he's more of a wild card).
he puts on a fake smile and embraces the toiling work in the hopes that one day he will make it out.
but then he gets a chance. a ticket out of his situation. he meets a fairy godmother...wen hai lee (STAY WITH ME OKAY)
the fairy godmother leads him to...the prince!! makoto!!!
other people, like the stepsisters/sagawa, just want to use the prince/makoto for wealth. cinderella/majima is the only one who truly cares for the prince/makoto. but they must part ways too soon, and the prince doesn't even know cinderella's name or what she normally looks like.
but what did cinderella leave behind?
