I can't be the only one who thinks that the fact that they've put all this silliness and shenanigans in the trailers definitely means that the actual plot of the game is going to be absolutely heartwrenching. istg SEGA if Majima's amnesia turns out to be some kind of a grief fuelled response to Kiryu's death, it will be on SIGHT.

Was absolutely devastated by this scene (fuck Kiryu here btw he was such an ass to them) but I'm still losing my fucking mind over Kiryu bowing his head down to Majima and calling him "Majima no nii-san". It's been decades since Kiryu has left the Tojo and YET.

listen i love Kiryu with all my heart but this forced parental relationship they keep pushing between him and Daigo piss me the fuck off like this is so fucking disrespectful to Majima who reigned in Daigo's little emo ass since '0 fucking 6 and was actually THERE to support him every step of the way when he was made Chairman. like how does the cutesy moments Kiryu and Daigo shared back when he was a snot-nosed kid lay the foundation for Kiryu being a damn father figure to him when Goro Majima is RIGHT FUCKING THERE!?!?

The amount of work Majima puts in all of his meetings with Kiryu is so commendable. This man always puts on a balls-to-the-walls show for Kiryu. And every single fucking time Kiryu smiles softly and goes "heh, that's Majima-san for you. He never changes" with fondness in his voice like please.

God I can only imagine how outlandish and annoying (affectionate) Majima would be if they actually started dating.

Like I can imagine Kiryu just walking down the street in Kamurocho when suddenly there's a helicopter in the sky following him with a voice ringing out of it going "Good people of Kamurocho, see that hunk of a man walking down the Tenkaichi??? That's MY KIRYU-CHAN! Touch his fine ass and ya will wake up with that arm missing tomorrow! Hahahaa!"

While Kiryu squints at the sky, obviously flustered and yells right back "GET DOWN FROM THERE, MAJIMA-SAN!"

One of my absolute favourite moments to read in Kazumaji fics is when Majima puts a cigarette between his lips and then pats around his jacket for the lighter. But before he could pull it out, Kiryu lights up his cigarette with the slightest of bows, an act of deference.

Like no matter what time period the fic is set in or how many years it's been since Kiryu left the Tojo, that little ritual always stays between them. It's a nice nod to their relationship during the Bubble, when Majima was actually Kiryu's "aniki".

I feel like they'll always retain a part of that dynamic in their relationship, despite being equals in every other way. And it's really beautiful to watch.

My heart just absolutely breaks thinking what if Majima knew beforehand that Kiryu's days were numbered but he was in denial, refusing to believe that a fucking illness of all things would put the nail in the Dragon's coffin. So when they finally meet in that shack, he starts their conversation with a taunt, because he needs to see it for himself to believe it. To come to terms with the fact that Kiryu is actually dying.

And so, they fight. It gets real ugly real quick and by the end of it, Majima's eye is glazed over with a terrifying realisation as he stands over Kiryu's beaten body, his breathing more laboured than it had any right to be.

Going into the fight, Majima wanted to be absolutely crushed by those large hands, years of pent up feelings and frustration being pounded down onto him. That way he'd know that the Dragon was still alive and kicking. That his Kiryu-chan was not actually dying an excruciatingly slow death.

But his victory rings like a funeral toll in his ears. This is all wrong. Kiryu Kazuma is supposed to his perfect rival, his true equal. The only one who could tame the Mad Dog. Not the bleeding, coughing mess of a man that laid underneath him. This couldn't be happening.

But when Kiryu looked at Majima, he felt more than saw the remnants of wildfire in the Dragon's eyes, flickering away more and more by the second. It took every single fibre of Majima's being to not end the poor bastard's life right there.

What was the use anyway—the Dragon was already dead.

God GOD can you imagine Y8 pulling the most heartwrenching Y0 parallel by making Kiryu die in Majima's arms and Haruka arriving just a second too late, holding her dad's face in her hands and just sobbing uncontrollably. "You're just sleeping, right, Uncle Kiryu? It's okay, you can rest now" and that finally pushes Majima over the edge as he lets his own tears fall, clutching Kiryu's increasingly cold body by one hand while the other gently strokes Haruka's hair, holding both of them close with strength he doesn't have.

I sometimes get so sad when I remember how Kiryu lost literally everyone that he'd ever loved in the span of a few days. Shinji, Reina, Yumi, Kazama, Nishiki—all of them died right before his eyes and he couldn't do a damn thing to stop it. He was so depressed by the end of Kiwami, ready to throw away his life, not caring if he ended up behind the bars for life.

Who did he even have left that he could go on for?

Date gives him a reason. The girl who looked a little too much like Yumi. And that sparks something inside him, something so unfamiliar it almost wreaks him from inside out. He couldn't save her mother, but he will die trying to protect Haruka. Because she's the only one he was living for anyway, right?

Who else did he even have?

Except, he had Majima too. He had always had him. Right from their first meeting in the hazy, glittering streets of Kamurocho in '88 to the violently ritualistic run-ins with him in the winter of '05, Majima was the only person who was a constant, grounding presence in his life, no matter how fluttering. This man waited 10 years for Kiryu to get out of prison, was tempted to follow him right in because fuck it, at least they'd be in that shithole together.

Majima is the only person still alive that Kiryu knows from before. And that's a big fucking deal. Majima knew Kiryu Kazuma before he was the "Dragon of Dojima". He knew him as the punk kid with ideals too lofty for their lawless world. In a way, they came of age together, and grew increasingly disillusioned with the Yakuza lifestyle, also together.

Today, Kiryu has more people he loves and more reasons to live than he did back in '05, but no matter how close they get to him, no one will ever get to see that part of him that long since got permanently buried in the rubble of the millennium tower.

No one but Majima, who knows and understands. God, he understands Kiryu so much. That's why, whenever they meet, they don't need to talk all that much. One glance, one fight and a couple of drinks later, it's like no time has passed and they're right back on that fated, glittery night at Tenkaichi, clashing for the first time ever.

Kiryu has spent his entire life protecting those he cares about. But Majima is different. Kiryu knows he doesn't need his protection. He knows that Majima wouldn't be killed simply because he had the misfortune of being associated with him. And so Kiryu subconsciously depends on Majima the way everyone else in his life depends on him. It's not entirely fair, maybe also a bit selfish but Majima indulges him, every single time, without asking anything in return.

So yeah, Date was right when he said that Kiryu had something precious to live for. Haruka, yes but also this crazy bastard of a man who would refuse to leave him alone for the better part of 3 decades.

And Kiryu loves him, goddamnit. There's just no simpler way to say it.

So I just played the entire Majima introduction scene in Kiwami 2 and suffice to say I'm having some t h o t s. After having to sit through that awkward af scene where Kaoru undresses in front of Kiryu and then has a heart-to-heart with him about wanting to find out about her past (like seriously? if y'all wanted show them bonding just do THAT?? Do they need to sexualise that encounter like fucking look at the way the camera positions on Kaoru's breasts while she's genuinely talking about wanting to find out the truth. men at sega are truly limp dicked bastards istg) it was such a breath of fresh air to FINALLY go and see Majima.

Like at the Tojo HQ I almost screamed when Kiryu found the demonfire knife in Terada's backroom and was all like "I'd recognise that dagger anywhere..." like we know baby. You've got scars on your body the shape of the dagger's edge, of course you'd recognise it! And then the conviction with which he says that Majima is the only one who can save the clan from falling apart when Yayoi and Kashiwagi are both apprehensive about it is just...*chef's kiss*.

The actual meeting scene takes the cake of course. Kiryu brings that damn dagger with him to Purgatory and tosses it to the ground like some sort of a mating call to Majima, like he knows that's the only way he'll actually respond. And then what follows is just Sayama being obviously third-wheeled the entire time these gay bitches are in proximity to each other. Like I'm pretty sure the use of the very possessive sounding "my Kiryu-chan" definitely raised her eyebrows. (Not to mention, his dialogue with Sayama comes off more or less catty. The nicknames he calls her feel patronizing, like he dismisses her being anything more than another arm candy. Of course that is until the "I'm a cop" reveal lmao, that sobers him up pretty fucking fast).

And of course then Kiryu is more or less begging Majima to come back to the Tojo, bowing his head low in reverence and desperation and a bit of selfishness too because he KNOWS Majima won't be able to say no. Not to him, HIS Kiryu-chan. And Majima surely just reinforces that fact by saying "Ya know I can't bear seeing ya like this..." They're both pretty fucking aware of the fact that Majima has a big ol' soft spot for Kiryu (and now, thanks to all of this shit happening right in front of her salad, Sayama does too).

But the real highlight of the scene comes after, during Kiryu's entry into the coliseum where Majima is just so shamelessly checking him out through the cage it's not even subtle. But we all know that already.

What we don't know is the fact that its Kiryu who looks at him first and he just keeps looking at Majima's direction after winning against Di Sciuva:

against Gary Buster Holmes:

Kiryu knows Majima's eyes have constantly been on him throughout the tournament. And so it's not even entirely subtle that he's making sure Majima's having a good time because all of this is basically a show Kiryu's putting on for his eyes, hoping it'd be impressive enough to convince him to come back to Tojo clan. But I'm willing to bet anything that some part of Kiryu thoroughly enjoyed that shit too.

Everyone and their mother knows what comes next, gay sex in a caged fight, but still I will never get tired of going absolutely bonkers over Majima's entry scene. Everything about it is just so powerful and sensual and just so fucking cool.

It SCREAMS reciprocation. Majima is basically like 'Kiryu-chan gave me such a spectacular show it'd be such a shame not to return the favour' and then he just presents himself like THAT to Kiryu, in all his glory and asks him all smugly whether he likes the fucking view. That was so cunty of him UGH.

and Kiryu is just so fucking amused and he VERY MUCH VISIBLY likes what he's seeing. his body language, the way his voice drips with something dangerously close to fondness, that damn li'l smile like Kazuma Kiryu you're so fucking gay for this man it's embarrassing~

Their post-fight scene has a different fanbase altogether, because goddamnit Kiryu do be looking at Majima like he wants to wreak him all ways to Sunday.

This is one of the few times through the 3 Yakuza games I've played that I've genuinely found Kiryu to be smokin' hot. Like I don't think he's EVER smirked like that at anyone, much less a female love interest. There's just so much going on on his face (bless the dragon engine graphics) and good GOD every bit of it is downright filthy.

He fucked that man, hard (or got dicked down within an inch of his life). PERIODT.

Sjsjdjdjrowjehejkeje I don't think we talk enough about Majima here. The way he looks down then slowly back up to Kiryu while a little smile plays on his lips, the way he lowers his voice to that sultry af tone and he invites Kiryu for a drink, almost as if it's an inside thing for them both, as if it's code for "hey, wanna fuck nasty on my desk?" And Kiryu, for once in his life, picks right up on that, and then fucking smirks like THAT because of course he wants to fuck, what kind of a question is that?

Like there's just no other feasible way to explain this interaction. Y'all know if this exact scene was between Kiryu and Sayama, they'd have been all over each other in the next scene.

But because it's SEGA's two leading men, they settled for the most obvious insinuation possible that it just makes it way more horny than if they'd just straight away fucked. I said what I said.

So I'm playing Kiwami 2 rn and you know what pisses me off? The fact that they made Kiryu all worried about Sayama who's essentially a stranger to him at this point (not to mention a fucking COP at that) and made him pick her up when she got dizzy and shit because they wanted to set up romance between them or whatever WHEN in kiwami they literally added in that fucking pier scene where Majima gets shot in the fucking gut and pummeles down into Tokyo Bay and Kiryu just fucking LEAVES HIM THERE LIKE???!?!?!?!?!?!?! Were they afraid that Kiryu rescuing Majima and cradling him in his arms was gonna look gay as fuck???? Otherwise it just doesn't make sense (not to the story, not to Kiryu's character).

GOD you don't even understand how Kazumaji are "I'll punch you and kick you and hurt you (but never too much, never more than you can take) because that's how I love you, violently, scarring your skin with the remnants of my dagger's kiss"

but Minedai are "I would paint myself with the blood of your enemies, plunge into myself all the daggers that were meant for you. I would love you from the shadows, like the ghost of a man you once knew ( and god I hope you loved me too)"
