the episode was cute, i guess, but honestly, i'm kind of disappointed? they didn't capitalize at all on how intriguing the eobard/iris dynamic is. we just got that one scene in the cortex which honestly i thought just served to foreshadow that she was already doubting him. plus all the chester/allegra stuff was unnecessary, and darhk had way too much screentime. but mostly as someone looking forward to the eoiris and the eobard/iris/barry dynamics, i was disappointed. they could have done more.
I thought the episode was probably one of the best ones they've had in a minute. That being said yeah they spent too much time on Allegra and Chester's will-they-won't-they that I'm pretty sure only 6 total people care about.
Damien's addition to the plot was actually brilliant so I disagree with you there.
I will say I wanted a lot more detail in the life that Eo and Iris built for themselves in this reconstructed world but I understand they were limited for time. We got the badly Photoshopped picture at the loft!!!! Hell yeah!!!
It was pretty clear from the cortex scene that Iris was having doubts about Eobard and he obviously didn't see that because he was too busy gloating about his win over Barry. THAT is the FLAW that made the entire plan crumble apart. Eobard may have won but he never truly won Iris' heart over. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been having doubts to start.
And then of course the power of the WestAllen is something that's been enduring since the beginning which is why everyone covets it so much.
Really and truly, Candice was the MVP of the episode (surprise!) with an honorable mention to both TomCav and Neal McDonough. Those dudes were having funnnnnnnn and I enjoyed it.
Next episode will be interesting because I'm curious to see how Eo responds to losing to Barry again. Probably not great 😌

AGREED. I've been a Candice fan for awhile and can tell she's pretty private and selective about the people she hypes up. And it's clearly because Tom supports her genuinely behind the scenes and in interviews and at cons and etc etc. It's annoying it took until the end of Tom's tenure to get them some real hefty scenes together but its still worth it!!
