okay because I let my curiosity get the best of me I caught up on the Flash episodes and I have some Thoughts™️:

-the Negative SF/Forces severing Barry’s connection to his lightning rod by having him accidentally kill her is admittedly an intriguing concept and a dastardly evil plan that could’ve been an excellently plotted story if it wasn’t written by a fuckin neanderthal 

-this may be giving the cast/GG too much credit but the Negative Forces taking over could explain a lot of why the team seemed so unconcerned about Iris when she disappeared. with their main forces affected, this could explain the wonkiness of their powers and behavior and why Meena was able to access the negative force so easily

-Cecile’s writing is either setting her up to the be the perfect villain for season 9 or Eric Wallace threw any and all moral ethics out the window because there is no timeline, universe or reality where stealing people’s powers (even if they’re villains) is something a hero would do. she has zero remorse or regret and has no plan to return them (thus far) this is making her even more unlikable than previously

-Iris being infected with negative tachyons as this long drawn out plot to sever her connection with Barry took too fucking long to come to fruition and made her family, friends and husband look like idiots

-Eobard’s connection to the Negative Force being the cause of this is largely unsurprising and as someone who stans him unapologetically, its time to hang it up with him. even the comics gave him an ending eventually. there’s only so many times you can dip back into that well my GOD

we’ll see how the finale goes because I’m gonna try and watch live so y’all don’t spoil it for me but obviously Iris comes back. the how is the real question. it makes sense if Eobard truly dies to give Iris back her life unless Barry plans to time travel which is always a hit or miss decision
