What do you do when a printer doesn't work
I seek the wisdom of Marcus Aurelius.
Reread Epictetus' Enchiridion today. (Technically it was compiled by Arrian, but it's Epictetus' ideas.) It's basically a short "How to be a Stoic" manual, and one of our main sources for that ancient philosophy. I was really into Stoic philosophy around 12 years ago, though these days I lean more Epicurean/humanist.
The Stoicism of Epictetus is very individualistic in some ways. The focus is entirely on how to achieve personal peace of mind, and you achieve that by only caring about what is under your control - i.e. your thoughts, feelings, and choices. Everything else in life? Not in your control, therefore there's no point worrying about it. Health, finances, politics, other people's opinions of you? Not your problem. You gotta accept the limits of the life you're given, but if you can do that, you can be free of unnecessary stress.
