Been rewatching Avatar and still have so much love for these characters. I enjoy thinking of Iroh meeting Zuko’s dragon, sometime after The Search. It would be a nice way of bringing the symbolism of the dragons in their story come full circle.
The non-bender
Aggressive/Dramatic Zuko that make me giggle.
How do we forgive our fathers? Do we forgive our fathers for leaving us too often, or forever, when we were little? Maybe for scarring us with unexpected rage, or making us nervous because there never seemed to be any rage there at all? Do we forgive our fathers for marrying, or not marrying, our mothers? Or divorcing, or not divorcing, our mothers? And shall we forgive them for their excesses of warmth or coldness? Shall we forgive them for pushing, or leaning? For shutting doors or speaking through walls? For never speaking, or never being silent? Do we forgive our fathers in our age, or in theirs? Or in their deaths, saying it to them or not saying it. If we forgive our fathers, what is left?
Remember when I did a huge Avatar sketch dump on my DA?
This is old stuff.
2010. Old as balls.

The large age gap between ozai and iroh. In terms of Ozai Iroh perhaps is the brother like a father They may have had such a nice time.
So everyone is doing this Kataang week thing, huh? Yay! C=
One bit of the first episode that always gets me is, well, how little reason Katara has to believe in the Avatar at all.
The oldest person she knows wasn’t born when the Avatar was around. There is just… no explanation for why this 14 year old girl has such overwhelming faith. I mean, Katara is likely just a few months shy of a very painful conversation with Gran-Gran, where “fairytales” and “time to grow up” are both used a lot.
Luckily, that doesn’t happen.
“But I haven’t lost hope.”
Instead, she finds the Avatar.
“I still believe that somehow, the Avatar will return to save the world.”
And he saves the world.
Can we just take this moment to appreciate that Uncle Iroh just invented boba tea?
