What does Stella think of Maria if Maria was still alive, Aunt Maria would love her niece very dearly
Stellar doesn't learn about Maria until she's a teenager, when her true nature is revealed and she forces Shadow to be more honest with her. He ends up confessing his own origins to her—even the dark and scary parts—in an attempt to both 1) show her she isn't alone in her unnatural origins and 2) provide a reason as to why he hadn't been completely honest with her. All he ever wanted for her was a normal life, free of the trauma of being created—not born—to be a weapon.
That being said, if Maria was alive to see Stellar, she would adore her. Shadow often ponders what she might think of him as he navigates being a father without her in his life, at times even feeling guilty for his newfound happiness. He feels undeserving of the joy his little dysfunctional family brings him at times, even if in his heart he knows all Maria ever wanted for him was for him to be happy.
