“So before I even turned 18, I told my parents that [moving to Europe] was going to happen. They’ve been so supportive, I was lucky. But it was me going into the unknown. I was just like, ‘This is what I’m going to do with my life.’ I put myself in their shoes and realize now what they were thinking, and how terrifying it must have been.”

“I’m about to be the most productive I’ve ever been. I’ve worked a lot the past couple of years, but now I’m feeling more confident as an artist and have more opportunities. I’m getting the chance to make art from the ground up. In your early 20s you’re figuring it all out—you’re like a dog with big paws. And you’re waiting for people to open the gates for you. Now they’re open. So I feel really excited for the next 10 years of my life.”

“[There’s] a boundary, and I’ve always said or thought this in the back of my mind: maybe it’s because I started when I was younger, but it’s all make-believe. It’s like: ‘Oh, I’m going to go pretend to do this.’ As I’ve gotten older, the boundaries have always been clear and that’s stayed with me. So I still am just like: ‘Oh, I pretended that happened to me.’ It’s also important to remember that just because you acted something doesn’t make you actually know what it’s like.”

“Everything I have done has been done with passion and love for the art. I have never chased success or material trophies or accolades of any sort – the act of being immersed in the craft has always been my thing.”
“I’m not a nervous person but I do get this beautiful anxiety. And just before the first take, when the lights are on and the cameras are rolling, I take a deep breath and go, Fuck it.”

“I didn’t actually take time off. The past two years are the hardest I’ve ever worked. I’ve been working on two albums, an animated film, shooting for multiple magazines, designing for Puma and Stance, a new line of fragrances, a summer tour, I launched my first annual Diamond Ball at the end of last year, and I’ve also been developing several projects to be revealed in the near future.”
