Do you happen to have the heights chart for the core/cgi he-man characters? I’ll even take headcanons based on the show.

For the kids I think it’s Krass, Teela, Adam, then Duncan, but their powered up modes make it harder for me to see it. What do you think?

I went through all the Core/CGI materials I do have and the closest thing to a height chart than I have are the concept designs of the main cast in Earth clothes.

So we can see that Duncan is the tallest of the kids, almost as tall as Keldor. Adam is shorter than Duncan but taller than Teela, and Teela is the shortest of the kids pictures.

Marlena is also almost as tall was Keldor.

All other character heights, your headcanon is as good as mine.

If a lot of Eternians don't like non-humans how would they feel about Adora's child Finn?

This depends on which version of Eternia from which iteration of the franchise you're working off of.

Human Eternians don't like non-humans (and especially Gar) in the Classics line. The subject is up for debate in the 200X cartoon.

As for Filmation, there appears to be no tension or distrust between the races of Eternia (except for a few one-off single-episode examples that are resolved by the end).

I think, after being separated from their daughter for so long and finally being reunited, Randor and Marlena wouldn't care that Finn is non-human, they would just be happy that their daughter is alive and thriving enough to give them a grandchild.

I think it'd be interesting if 2021/CGI Marlena was still alive and just left Randor for one reason or another. Though I'm not quite sure where she'd be on Eternia, unless they made her into an outright heartless villain, you'd think hearing that Adam was back would have made her show up... maybe she's on Etheria looking for Adora, lmao.

There was a fan theory floating around for a while that Marlena was Mosquitara. That after Adam was kidnapped, she left on a quest to get enough magical power to get her son back. But at some point along the way she lost sight of her goal and it became about just getting more and more power for power's sake.

It was an interesting fan theory and I honestly did like it for the drama, but I don't personally subscribe to it.

My personal headcanon until proven otherwise, is that after Adam was kidnaped, Marlena and Randor experienced extreme marital problems. Marlena was grieving her lost child and maybe some advisor from the court, or even Randor himself, was pressuring her to have another child so the monarchy would still have an heir. Marlena couldn't process her loss in such a high-pressure and toxic environment, so she gets back in her Rainbow Rocket and flies back to Earth. Marlena is still on Earth at the time the Core/CGI series takes place.

That's why Randor only ever says he "lost" her, not that she's dead.

Did we ever get back story for Marlena in the 2002 series? Were they together before the council made Randor king, is she an astronaut from Earth or an Eternian native?

As far as I'm aware, Filmation is the only iteration of the franchise to give Marlena a meaningful backstory.

In 200X, she's just sort of there.

And in Core/CGI she's not even there! She's just a painting of a woman that was present in Randor's life at one time but is not inexplicably gone and we don't know if she died or just left him.

At least Rev built on Filamtion's backstory that she was a pilot from Earth. That was nice.

What if Lyn was Adam's step sister? Like maybe Marlena was her mother.

I could go for that. In the portrait, Marlena seemed to have a very thin frame. She was seated so its hard to guess her body type, but I could believe that she's long like Lyn is. Adam and Lyn being step-siblings is definitely a twist nobody would expect!

The one thing that holds me back on this is that if she were Marlena's daughter and Adam's step-sister or half-sister, that means that Randor would also have a familial connection to her as her step-father. But Randor did not display any kind of familial feelings to her. Not concern over her safety, or disappointment over her betraying him and supporting Keldor's coup. I feel like for Lyn being Marlena's daughter to work, Randor would have to have some kind of feeling about her. Whether is be disappointment, sadness, or rage. But I don't even think Randor even spoke to her expect for "Kronis and Evelyn, I presume."

Also, how old would Marlena have to be to have a daughter Evelyn's age? I don't have my guidebook handy at the moment, but I think Lyn is supposed to be Keldor's age. Would Randor have gotten with a much older woman? Is that why Marlena is no longer around in the main time period of the show? Has she simply passed away from old age?

You've given me a lot to think about.

Great ask!

It’s worth coming up with a theory why certain eternians are indistinguishable from humans

For a while on the Grayskull Wiki, they had humans listed as a race that immigrated to Eternia.

That led me to the headcanon that, instead of aliens having visited Earth and making monuments like the Pyramids or Stonehinge, ancient humans from those cultures were highly advanced and built space ships to escape the threatening spread of Christianity. So that Eternian humans were really just off-shoots from Earthling humans.

This fan theory was later debunked when (after lengthy debate) we realized that "humans" was listed because Marlena was from Earth and her rocket crashed on Eternia when she chose to stay, marry, and have children.

I still maintain, why list the entire species and why make it plural on a list of races that immigrated to Eternia if they just meant one person? But I've been overruled.

Angst headcanon for CGI he man

Marlena is staying at a summer palace getting therapy because the trauma of loosing both her children and her brother in law caused her to mentally recede into herself

Randor avoids telling Adam till everything has calmed down because he fears his return may not be enough to pull her out of it

I mean Randor refused to use Greyskull’s power despite Keldor’s recommendation

to him that may seem like a betrayal

Just not taking someone's advice? Keldor must be pretty petty to count that as a "betrayal". But maybe he is that petty.

I donno. If there was a betrayal, I'd prefer it be something bigger than that. Maybe at one point they were both in love with Marlena, but Randor married her.

1. marlena prettyyyyyyyyy

2. i love the contrast of adam being so cheerful while everyone else is brooding/being awkward. keldor looks like an angsty teen who has been forced into a family picture but it also feels like randor caught marlena and keldor in bed the week before but the portrait was already scheduled and they couldn't cancel it

Everyone else has already pointes this out, but this is the post that actually has the image on it, so it needs to be said on this post:

There is space on that couch for Adora, but she is conspicuously absent.

Obviously, Adora's not going to appear in He-Man at all because He-Man and She-Ra are now two separate properties. But, I like how the CGI cartoon isn't retconning her out entirely. They're taking pains to make sure her absence is felt!

So the trailer of season 2 just pop out and already there's some one on 4chan is theorizing that Mosquitra is corrupted Queen Marlena. Thoughts?

We were actually just talking about this on my Discord server.

I like the idea. Its definitely a new and different take on Marlena's character and I can see exactly how it would happen too!

Marlena's son was kidnapped for the power of Grayskull, so Marlena leaves the palace in search of a power of her own, and maybe to get her baby back. But a long the way she's corrupted and loses her purpose. Its been 10 years and its not about getting power to find her son anymore. Now its just about finding power.

I had this fan-canon backstory for Roboto back in 2019 which connected not only Duncan but Marlene herself. The story is that Marlene original space mission was to fly to one of Jupiter's moon and deploy a new next-gen AI rover to examine the moon's surroundings. However the ship ended in Eternia and the damaged rover ended being a travelling companion to Marlene until she found Randor. Eventually she would ask Duncan to repair/upgrade the rover which ended it becoming Roboto.

Interesting. I like it.

When I watched the Trailer for Masters of the Universe: Revelation, I thought it was an ultimate Battle between Good and Evil. In addition, certain Heroic Warriors and Evil Warriors take on each other like He-Man vs. Skeletor, Teela vs. Evil-lyn, Man-at-Arms vs. Trap Jaw, Buzz-Off vs. Webstor, Clamp Champ vs. Clawful, Ram-Man vs. Goat Man and more...

The trailer for Part 2 especially gave me "Ultimate Battleground" vibes.
