MotU Boops
I haven’t seen Revolution yet. But I do know Keldor gets crowned King of Eternia and I heard he’d accepted. But I’m wondering how that’s supposed to work. How is he accepted as king when he’s illegitimate, and most of not all versions of MOTU imply the majority of Eternia is racist to the Gar? I’m not saying he shouldn’t be accepted since he is technically of royal blood. But I’m a little confused by the idea of Eternia possibly ever accepting Keldor based on his heritage. Again, I haven’t seen it yet, so maybe I was misinformed, or maybe they don’t accept him eagerly. I just think it weird since in my mind at least it should be consistent that most Eternians aren’t so trusting of Gar, or at least that the stigma against them is still fresh.
If you want spoilers I can give you spoilers. I mean, the series has been out long enough now that all of Tumblr is full of spoilers.
Basically, Randor dies. -> Adam doesn't want to be King. -> Keldor shows up and tells Adam his sob-story. -> Adam decided Keldor should be King instead of him. -> Keldor is crowned king.
In the 5th Episode of Masters of the Universe: Revolution, there was a decisive Battle between He-Man & Skeletor. At the End of this Battle, He-Man defeated Skeletor and Skeletor transformed Back into Keldor. After the Fight between He-Man & Skeletor, Keldor was placed in a Cell of the Dungeon in the Royal Palace of Eternos and since then Keldor has sat there as a dejected Man.
However, should Masters of the Universe: Revolution ever Continue and Kledor return as Skeletor in the second Part of the TV-Series, I present it this Way. After Keldor is finally Defeated, sitting Alone in the Dungeoncell. Keldor suddenly sees a bright green Light, It is the Soul of the infamous Demo-Man. The Demo-Man speaks to Kledor and makes a Pact with Kledor!
"Be my new Body, be my new Life and together we become 1 living Being" say the Demo-Man to Kledor
Keldor accepts the Pact to become One with the Demo-Man. When Demo-Man's Soul merged with Keldor, Keldor's Face turned Back into a Skull and Skeletor was Born again. Now Keldor can take Revenge on He-Man again as Skeletor and is planning a deadly Plan. The One who brings He-Man to his Doom!!!!
What if Keldor was given a chance at redemption instead of constantly being recycled as a villain?
What if Revolution remembered that it's supposed to be a "spiritual sequel" to the Filmation show that always taught a moral/ethical lesson?
What if Keldor reminded us that everyone is capable of change and even the most evil Lord of Destruction can change and become better than he was.
What if Revolution gave us hope.
I watched Masters of the Universe: Revolution recently and I thought it was Better than Masters of the Universe: Revelation Part 1 & 2. However there was a Moment in this MOTU Cartoon that completely Surprised me.
SPOILER ALERT for those who haven't seen Masters of the Universe: Revolution yet!
We all thought that Skeletor from Masters of the Universe: Revelation & Revolution was a Demon from another Dimension. The Masters of the Universe: Revelation Comic-Series (the Prequel to the actual Masters of the Universe: Revelation Cartoon) showed us the Homeworld of Skeletor & his Species. But the 3rd Episode of Masters of the Universe: Revolution showed us that Skeletor was never a Demon from another Dimension, but was Keldor the whole Time.
It surprised me too.
I read the tie-in comic they published for Revelation and it used the origin that Skeletor was from another dimension, and they gave him an unnecessary family and made him a hero to his people.
Now, knowing that those were fake memories implanted by Hordak, it actually makes more sense. It sounded fake when reading it, I just assumed Skeletor was an unreliable narrator. Turns out, to Skeletor that was true, but not for the reason I thought.
AND I'M SO HAPPY THEY GAVE ME KELDOR! <3
I love this man!
To finally see him crowned king <3, then watch him deteriorate into the bitter shell of a man his poor life choices have made him, and see him defeated and brooding in a cell under Castle Grayskull~ *chef's kiss* Its the Keldor story I always wanted. The only thing it was missing was unnecessary bisexual mention between Lyn, Keldor, and Hordak. (But I have AO3 for that.)
And they gave me a flashback of his childhood too!
Look at this precious child!
This mischievous little scamp grows up to become the single most evil being in the universe.
He is my son.
🧐 🤔 So MOTU: Revolution made Keldor extra beefy? Him having a pretty face seems to be his staple ever since 200X He-Man introduced him.
I mean... Keldor always was beefy.
Being beefy and having a pretty face have always been a staple of him.
What god do I need to sell a soul to I order to get everyone to watch Masters of the Universe: Revolution?
I need you all to know that I’m so desperate for new people in the fandom, I just spent my entire break explaining the line of succession of Eternia’s royal to my normie coworker. 😭
They did not have to make Keldor this hot 👀💦
So in 2021 the Masters of the Universe: Revelation Comic-Series was Released, this MOTU Comic-Series from Dark Horse Comics is the Prequel to the Masters of the Universe: Revelation Cartoon. Now in this Year the Masters of the Universe: Revolution Comic-Series is coming Out, this is the Prequel to the Masters of the Universe: Revolution Cartoon and that's not all.
Despara from DC's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Vol. 2 (2013) is supposed to Appear in the Masters of the Universe: Revolution Comic-Series and we all know who Despara really is!!!
...and Kay-La and Saryn!?
For the WIP procrastination ask thing, #2 and #9!
2.) Describe your WIP using the format ___+___=___, Days of Our Lives + Divorce Court = I don't understand how this game works
9.) What's a story you'd love to write but haven't started yet? Oh, so many...
I'm currently in the Superman (and family) fandom and would love to write a fic where Earth is Krypton. Its not even all that far off from some more obscure canons. But, like, think about it: dying world, scientist warn of impending doom and outline steps to prevent it, the ruling body ignores the warnings in favor of short term gains. That's literally us, right now. We are witnessing the fall of Krypton IRL in real time.
I'd also like to do some more lighthearted ship fics for Tim/Kon. I have no other detail beyond that. They need more love and attention.
And, at some point, I'd like to return to my Masters of the Universe AU, "Horned Princess" in which Evil-Lyn and the people of Zalesia were not human and Lyn is a goat-like creature (different from the Goatmen which are already a race in MotU). This would make Tri-Klops the only human member of Keldor|Skeletor's forces, which would really highlight the disparity between the Evil Warriors and the Masters (whom are almost entirely human with the exception of 2).
Gotcha, well hope someone finds it. Also while searching for it I found the Who's Your Daddy? AU and while I haven't gone through everything relating to that yet I got an idea, but just saying it feels weird cause the last post about it was in 2020 so is bringing something like that back up alright or?
of course its alright! Nobody gets to tell you how to have fun! revive that old AU! write that indulgent fic!
Just got home from work and guess what was waiting for me!
I wish Dare and Skeleteen had interacted with each other more.
They barely even appear in the same panel together! Across the entire Classics-Line comics, Dare and Skeleteen only appear together in 3 panels, and in only ONE(1) of them are they even interacting with each other.
I'm in a writing rut.
Send me a writing prompt in my Ask box
I won't promise I'll do all of them, but maybe something will knock something loose and I'll get inspired
Do you happen to have the heights chart for the core/cgi he-man characters? I’ll even take headcanons based on the show.
For the kids I think it’s Krass, Teela, Adam, then Duncan, but their powered up modes make it harder for me to see it. What do you think?
I went through all the Core/CGI materials I do have and the closest thing to a height chart than I have are the concept designs of the main cast in Earth clothes.
So we can see that Duncan is the tallest of the kids, almost as tall as Keldor. Adam is shorter than Duncan but taller than Teela, and Teela is the shortest of the kids pictures.
Marlena is also almost as tall was Keldor.
All other character heights, your headcanon is as good as mine.
Do you think Keldor will be the main villain of season 4 if he turns back into skeletor?
He might be a villain, but they very clearly left the set-up for Hordak and Evil-Lyn to be the main villains if a 4th season is ever made.
I, personally, would rather see Keldor go through a proper redemption arc where he recognizes the things he did over the course of the first 3 season were wrong, accepted responsibility for the hurt he caused, and endeavors to make amends for his actions.
That being said, it would actually be more on-brand for Keldor to let everything think Hordak is the main big bad, then in the final 2 episodes reveal he was working a long con all along and now he Emperor of the Universe (or something, idk).
I want a lot of things from Keldor and none of them are compatible with each other.
This bitch said “Don’t bother me until I’ve had my coffee.”
you said your favorite version of Keldor is the one that lives in your head, can you tell us about your keldor?
This is a hard question to answer because this version of Keldor is not so much a hardline and mapped out single interpretation. The "version" of Keldor that lives in my head is constantly changing and reinventing himself depending on my moods, any new information I take in from canon, new ideas I get from talking to people in fandom, and if I'm writing a fic and need Keldor to be a certain way.
The Keldor that lives in my head is constantly changing and in a constant state of flux.
This is kinda the version of Keldor that lives in my head:
But there are some details that remain consistent through out every reimagining of my personal head-Keldor.
1. He's always Gar
The version of Keldor that lives in my head is always half-human, half-Gar with blue skin and pointed ears. Sometimes this deeply affects his character and motivations, sometimes is does not and its literally just details of his appearance. But he is always Gar. I love my blue prince Keldor.
2. He always has daddy issues
Either issues being the child growing up with his father, or not knowing how to be a father to his own child. Keldor has issues and does not thrive well on either side of the parent-child dynamic. Not from a lack of love or caring, just because he has no idea how to fill either role. As the child he tries to please his father to a fault. As a parent, he has no idea how to be a good father because his own example of fatherhood had him jumping through hoops for approval.
3. At his core he is a good person
I really love the idea of Keldor (and even Skeletor) as a tragic figure who does the wrong things for the right reasons. I like the idea of Keldor turning down the path that leads him to becoming Skeletor, not out of selfish ambition, malice, or "evil"; but because he has goals and genuinely wants to make Eternia a better place for everyone. But he needs power to do that. Both magical power and political power and with so many roadblocks in his way, the only ways to achieve his goals within his lifetime are to resort to evil means.
That's the version of Keldor that lives in my head.
