This election has got me on edge.
I'm gonna distract myself with some soft, fluffy, low-stakes, and preferably domestic fan fics. The pairing will be Tim Drake/Kon-El because that's the hyper fixation this year.
TimKon is not a rare pair. But most of them are Tim Drake centric, and Kon is just there to be Tim's sexy lamp. What is a rare pair are stories that place focus on Kon instead, or, even more rare, balance focus on each of them equally

Series Summary:
On Earth, omega have regular heat cycles. The pheromones of an omega's heat will trigger an Alpha's rut and they can breed. On Krypton it was the opposite. It was Alphas that had the regular hormone cycles and omegas needed an Alpha to trigger their heat. This leads to a surprising number of problems.
Fic Summary:
Clark never hesitated to help the Caped Crusader with his own emotionally distraught pups. Not even when seeing the Alpha interacting with his pups reminded Clark of the one he gave up and twisted his guts with emotions so strong they gave him physical pains. It would be nice if Bruce reciprocated and helped Clark with his emotionally distraught pup.
Chapter Summary:
Clark has finally given Bruce access to the Fortress AI and the wealth of knowledge of Krypton, and Bruce has questions.

I started working on the next chapter of “Fractured Packs” right before I had to leave for work, and now I’m trying to do my normal 9-5 day job while all I can think about are Omegaverse courting rituals and how the courting rituals were different on Krypton compared to how the rituals are done on Earth.
13. a fandom you’re thinking about writing for
I'm actually considering going back to my previous fandom: Masters of the Universe.
I was chatting with a friend yesterday and I got to info-dump to them about Skeleteen (Skeletor's son, yes, he's canon) and that got me really excited for the fandom again. I might resume work on some of my unfinished fics, or I might start new ones.

One of the most frustrating things about having a fic that Hidden on AO3 is that every time I update I get the same feeling of anticipation for comments that I get for posting a public work. But no comments are coming because I have this fic set as Hidden and no one but me can see or read it

(There's also some weird stuff going on with Clark and Bruce and the spirits of Hope and Vengeance)
Everyone knows of and understands the frustration of shipping a rare pair. But a far less talked about and rarely understood frustration is the frustration of shipping a popular ship, but with the less popular character centered.
My current OTP is actually the most popular ship in the fandom and there are over 11K fics for them on AO3, I should be in paradise. BUT, the vast majority of these fics center one half of the pair (and his family) and the other half of the ship is just there to prop them up.
I wish there was more fic for this ship that either A.) centered around my Blorbo, or B.) placed a more equal focus on both partners instead of just having the less popular character there to prop up the fandom fav.
Because as much as I love this ship, the shippers are really making me hate this one specific character.
