I had seen some random panels from Revelations and Skeletor reminisces about his wife a lot, but I wonder, does he care about his daughter or something?

Hordak takes her away to be educated and trained as part of the Horde and I can't help but think she's dead or something haha :c

Skeletor had to choose which of his family he wanted to bring back to life: his wife or his daughter. He chose to bring his daughter back, so it's safe to assume that, yes, Skeletor does care about his daughter.

I don't think she's dead. Since He-Man and She-Ra are now two separate properties, She-Ra characters can no longer appear in He-Man shows or comics (even if they are canonically part of the Horde which still exists in both properties), its my personal theory that Skeletor's daughter is going to replace Shadow Weaver as the Horde Sorceress.

Wait, I can't remember if it was mentioned. I assume then Rev Skeletor and Rev He Man are not uncle and nephew then? Oof. (I would honestly still avoid shipping it n all that but it just occurred to me that they're not related )

It's made clear in the tie-in comics.

There's an issue that shows up Skeletor's backstory and he's from a planet of skull-faced people.

His people were enslaved by minatour looking creatures. But Skeletor rebelled and killed the main slaver and freed his people. He met a woman and they fell in love and had an adorable little skull-faced daughter. But some of the minotaurs came back and attack Skeletor and family in their home. They killed Skeletor's family in front of him.

Skeletor is then found by Hordak to tells him he has magic that could bring his family back, but he has to serve the Horde. They conquer half the universe together until Skeletor becomes impatient and demands Hordak share with him the secret of how to resurrect the dead. Hordak does, but the catch is he can only bring back one, not both. So Skeletor has to choose between his wife and his daughter.

He chose his daughter.

Who is then immediately taken by Hordak to be raised by the Horde and Skeletor never sees her again.

None of this was referenced in the Rev show, which was actually very frustrating. Like, why go though all the effort of writing, and hiring artists to illustrate, and publish that comic which is supposed to tie in with Revelation, and then Revelation never uses it? What the fuck!? Really!

Maybe if they make a second season they'll use the comic backstory. They referenced the backstory they gave Lyn in the same comic. So maybe?

Is it me or was Motherboard's appearance was frightening?

Honestly, I was more confused than frightened. Mostly because I was trying to figure out who she was supposed to be. Shadow Weaver? Light Hope? Entrapta? Skeletor's daughter that he gave to Hordak?

Skeletor very clearly recognized her. But we, the audience, had no idea until the Horde insignia popped up. Who is she supposed to be!?

Okay but, which incarnation of Keldor is Allura’s father? Because depending on the incarnation she would be half demon most of the time but also either half human or quarter human with quarter Gar

It makes you wonder how she would look with multiple mixed species

My personal favorite version of Keldor is from the Classic-Line comics. The one who's half Gar, the first born son of King Miro and was meant to inherit the throne and become King, until he was implicated in his step-mother's death and exiled instead.

That's the version of Keldor I imagine being her father. And, that version of Keldor did canonically have a child with Evil-Lyn. So, I imagine her looking like that child.

And under that baby-bonnet she's got her mother's Zalesian white hair.

Of course, this is just my personal interpretation of the idea of a daughter for Keldor. Which is basically just Skeleteen as a girl, really. I'm sure you and other people would have a different vision of the character.

I hope his little girl is OK. I want her to be OK.I'd die for her. I like this new take on Skeletor. I think they have beaten his Keldor origin story to death. Not saying i don't like it,but Ive seen it in the cartoon and redone in the comics. And at this point im bored of it. It's something new and yet to be explored further,so im giving it a chance and benefit of the doubt.

My theory is that Skeletor's daughter grew up to be Shadow Weaver.

Okay, so, its been a couple of days for Skeletor's newest of origin stories to sink in and I think I've decided...

I don't like it.

It's not the planet of skull-faced people I don't like (I actually did like that a lot, it was hilarious). And it's not the fact that they gave him a Fridge Wife and a Dead Little Sister Daughter (the 2 worst tropes for male-backstory men have ever created). No, the reason I don't like it is-

It doesn't fit.

Like with Skeletor. As a character. It feels like someone else's backstory.

I understand them not going with the Keldor backstory. As much as a love Keldor, he was created in 1987 and the Filmation show (the show that Revelation is a sequel to) went off the air in 1985, two years before "Keldor" was invented. So, it makes sense that they would not use Keldor in this Skeletor's back story.

Some other things they could have done that would fit better with the character would have been...

Skeletor Origin Stories Where Keldor Doesn't Exist:

  • Hordak's second-in-command. That's it. That's the whole backstory. Hordak has always figured heavily into Skeletor's origin in every incarnation. Let's just go ahead and make it his whole backstory. Hordak was the right hand of Horde Prime and Skeletor was his Second. They tore through the universe conquering planets until Skeletor wanted more and tried to usurp Hordak. As punishment, Hordak marooned him on Eternia, not realizing that Eternia was the source of all magic in the universe. But Skeletor will have his revenge!
  • He could have been the ruler of his world until the Horde came to conquer them. Hordak stole his crown and his home. But Skeletor found a source of power on a new planet: Eternia. And now he's gonna use it to not just take back what's his, but take everything there is to be had! Every planet and every start will fall under the shadow of Skeletor!

Skeletor Origin Story Where Keldor Does Exist (but is NOT Skeletor)

  • Skeletor was living his life on his planet in another dimension with his skull-faced race. Just minding his own business. When some puffed-up royal who fancied himself a better sorcerer than he was had a terrible accident with some inter-dimensional magic and Skeletor and Keldor switched places. Skeletor's cool with this though. Eternia has so much power! He could become a god here. And he will! The only way to get rid of Skeletor is to switch them back. Bring back Keldor and Skeletor will just automatically *poof* back to his own dimension. Thus, the search for Keldor could destroy Skeletor!

So, there ya go!

Three alternate origins for Skeletor where he's not Keldor and that make more sense with his character.

Because through out the whole of the MotU franchise before this point, Skeletor has always been about 3 things:

  • Control
  • Spite
  • Power

His backstory needs to reflect that.
