Let’s start with the original Filmation Transformation:

Instant flash cut. Lame. Moving on.

She Ra at least got a better deal and an effects budget:

The 2002 series similarly copped out with a lighting flare flash cut a lot, although this version exists and is decent.

But the newest transformation??

It is a Sailor Moon transformation, and while I have conflicted emotions about that it’s still glorious.

Let’s review the checklist:

Part of me is really, really happy that a male-intended media can just (apparently) unironically embrace this.

Part of me is cackling at how ridiculous it remains (although still better than even the 2002 Hulk Out version).

The rest of me - just wishes they’d had the guts to do something more original.

(And yes, obviously the unmoving plaid sparkle field predates Sailor Moon as stock anime transformation effect. Sailor Moon definitely had a hand in codifying it.)

(Bonus Sailor Moon fact: did you ever notice the Inner Senshi mimic an important part of their planetary symbol with their arms in their final pose? Jupiter’s “4” shape is most obvious, Venus’s is the weakest because the symbol is so similar to Mercury, but they’re there!!!)

CATRA’S PARENTS ARE LUNA AND ARTEMIS! 

Every one who Follows this blog should know by now that I ship Trunks (from DBZ) with Chibiusa (from Sailor Moon). Well, I was explaining my reasons for this ship to @nozominoyami, and after deciding that the ship made sense (( BECAUSE THIS SHIP MAKES SENSE, DAMN IT! )), she drew these sketches of their children. 

From the top. 

Vegeta III, or “Veggie-chan” for an affectionate nickname. The eldest son of Trunks and Chibiusa. In keeping with the old Saiyan tradition of naming the eldest son after the planet, they named him Vegeta. Unfortunately, he’s the weakest of the three. He is a capable fighter, but lacks significant ki and will never achieve even the first Super Saiyan form. He can, however, use lunar magic and become a “Tuxedo Mask” type hero like his other grandfather. But he doesn’t want to. 

Tokki, the second son and middle child. The name “tokki” is literally the word for “rabbit” in Korean. Following the Lunarian naming scheme of naming (Usage, Chibiusa, etc. Tokki was named for the lunar rabdits.) As the middle child he get overlooked by his parents all the time. Trunks and Chibiusa haven’t even realized that he has already achieved Super Saiyan 2, or that he’s well versed enough in Lunarian lore and magic to be a Sailor Guardian -except he doesn’t have a Star Seed/Sailor Crystal that would allow him to transform. He’s just a normal Lunar citizen. 

Lace, Trunks and Chibiusa’s only daughter. By Lunarian custom of inheritance through the female line, Lace is the heir to the Moon Kingdom throne. However, she doesn’t want it. While she is does have a Crystal that allows her to transform into the third Sailor Moon, she doesn’t want to be a Sailor Senshi, or a Moon Princess. She would rather fight like a Saiyan using fists and ki to subdue enemies with violence. She went Super Saiyan at a very young age and her older brothers are terrified of her. Vegeta and Bulma think she’s the most adorable thing in the universe, and Vegeta is a particularly doting grandfather. Usage and Mamoru are concerned.

All of these drawings were done by Nozomi, but ownership of the Ohs is shared between the two of us. I might post short one-shot fics of them later. But, for now, just enjoy the art.

You've heard of OTPs and NoTPs, now get ready for...

WOAH-TPs, pairings you never considered but now ship.

Clawhouser/Gideon (Zootopia) - Clawhouser likes cakes, pastries, and sweets. Gideon is a baker. They might live in different cities, but they have a friend in common in Judy. Gideon could bring her some baked good one day, which she would obviously share with everyone at the precent, and it would be “love at first bite” for Clawhouser. OR, Gideon could move to Zootopia and open up a bakery not far from the precent. Clawhouser would become a regular customer and it could be a really cute “Bakery AU” type slow burn. 

Trunks Briefs/Chibiusa (DBZ-Sailor Moon crossover) - This was a Woah-TP for me before it became my OTP. Mirai Trunks and Chibiusa are both the children of royalty, who come from broken dystopian futures, they travel back in time to dave their parents and hope to save their own time. (Also, Daddy Issues.) They have so much in common, its a very strong foundation to build a relationship on. As for the age difference between them, that can easily be reconciled by their time travel. 

SOMEONE ELSE OUT THERE IN THE UNIVERSE SHIPS TRUSA !!!!!!

Also, I agree with everything but the Disney movie. You know Trunks cried like a telenovela actress when Mufasa died.
