headcanon: Keith prefers to train alone, but after the incident with the gladiator, he doesn’t trust the sparring bots, and has to settle for training with the others as partners. He obviously likes training with Shiro the best–Shiro presents a big challenge and helps him improve quickly–but Shiro isn’t always free. Hunk and Lance fight with long-range weapons, not so fit for training with a sword, so Keith and Pidge end up training together a lot. Pidge’s quick moves, small size, and “get in close” strategy force Keith to adapt, and she helps him to improve more than he thought! Now, they train together fairly often.
