teacher: so what do you know about the federalist papers?

me: alexander joined forces with madison and john jay to write a series of essays defending the new united states constitution entitled the fereralist papers. the plan was to write a total of 25 essays, the work divided evenly among the 3 men. in the end, they write a total of 85 essays in the span of 6 months. john jay got sick after writing five. james madison wrote 29. ham iltON WROTE. Me: Well, of course it’s coming to an end, we all knew that.

(Sniffles and begins to tear up.)

Me: I mean the story has clearly been entering it’s climax, there’s no way they could have continued it from where it’s going. This is no surprise at all.

(Flips table.)

Me: Also I applaud Hirsch for sticking to his guns artistically and bringing the story to an end when the time was right.

(Tears up photos of the characters in a rage.)

Me: I think we can all agree that it’s better for a series to follow a solid narrative arc than to try and extend itself indefinitely.

(Tapes photos back together while sobbing.)

Me: All in all, this is a good time for the series to end.

(Sets self on fire.)
