“i’m sorry. for what we did to you. to your friends.”
rvb ladies night - the ones that kept me watching (2/3)
i kinda want to spray bottle myself for this because it’s mean, but haha
you realize that the reason wash and carolina had no problem killing and/or sacrificing the blood gulch guys is because they were literally taught that the reds and blues were disposable, like
donut probably wasn’t the first sim trooper wash shot
we don’t know how many training scenarios he had at other outposts, we don’t know how many reds and blues he killed before he accidentally got to know a few
and maybe everyone else already realized this five years ago but i am not always quick with this stuff and this has been a real fridge horror moment for me
Felix’s and Carolina’s shields really fit their characters, actually.
Felix’s shield is meant to protect him and him alone–it deploys quickly and uses relatively little power, but it only really provides a protected space for one person. Locus gets buffeted by winds (and actually gets blown away in the full shot), even though he’s in position at Felix’s back like always. Felix has never really prioritized looking out for others, and even though he cares about Locus, he doesn’t really have the capability to do what Locus needs. Locus tries to continue watching Felix’s back, but in the end, circumstances tear them apart.
In contrast, Carolina’s shield is capable of protecting others, but takes training, power, and the help of an AI to operate well. Carolina’s character journey has involved her discovering and accepting her own limits and those of her teammates, and learning to trust, communicate with, and accept the help of her team to keep as many of them safe as possible. She and Epsilon keep Wash safe from the explosion, and although both of them are tired afterward, both of them are safe as well.
fanbase: she’s such a heartless bitch
me: there she is, the love of my life.
Every day, I ask myself, “What do you fight for?” And every day, I answer, “For a better tomorrow.”

for the fallen ones, locked away in permanent slumber assembling their philosophies from pieces of broken memories
I wonder when it stopped being ‘dad’ and started being ‘director’
I still don’t know what I’ve done to deserve this season, a season in which I have enough material for detailed Carolina posts on practically every episode, but nevermind.
Let’s talk about Carolina and Epsilon and three very important parallels to season 10.
Carolina as big sister to the Reds and Blues 2k15.
-Tucker is like “I can’t wait for Junior to meet you. He’s really pumped about meeting his Aunt Carolina” “Aunt?” “Yeah. What was he supposed to call you? Agent?”
-Carolina picking Wash up, throwing him in his cot and says “sleep, I’ll have Epsilon wake you if you get nightmares. If you try working, I will be back.”
-”Get over here Grif, I’m teaching you how to fight” “What?” “Now.”
-Carolina making sure Simmons goes in for checks on his robotics equipment, “if you get rust, your gears could stop, and then I’d have to listen to Grif cry and I’m not here for that.”
-Carolina taking Donut up on his offer to paint her nails if he teaches her how to throw so well.
-Carolina getting Sarge to open up about what he did before the Sim troops and exchanging stories
-Carolina attempting to learn Spanish just so she knows what Lopez is saying.
-”Hey Frank” “Frank?” “It’s your name, isn’t it?” “Uh…yeah…just everyone calls me Doc.” “You wanna be called Doc? *Doc has an emotional moment because almost no one ever asks*
-Caboose saying “My sisters will like you. You can be one too.” “One what?” “A sister” “Caboose…” “I have 17 they won’t mind, it’s already crowded”
