Figured I'd start off my symptom tracking! Of pregnancy!! EEEEEE!!!!

  • Peeing like crazy
  • Moody AF
  • Boobs are OUCH
  • Bone tired
  • Cramps are going to be a thing this time too, I guess
  • Hot flashes
  • Getting the morning sickness train going early this time! No throwing up (yet), but food aversions and nausea galore

One thing I've found interesting so far is I am FAR less anxious already (all of 4 days in lol). It all just feels like "Oh, this again..." and I roughly know what to expect. One thing I'm purposefully not doing unless instructed to by my doctor is go cold turkey off my Lexapro like a straight up crazy person. I was reading through my old posts from my last pregnancy, and - u ok, 5-years-ago me?!?!? What the hell were you thinking girl?????

My favorite part so far is seeing how excited Emma is to be a big sister. 🥰 She is STOKED. Like, I'm obviously excited but she is over the moon, and I'm over the moon for her. She's wanted a sibling basically since she was old enough to talk about it, and so far seeing her joy is my favorite part, hands down. ❤️❤️

So, funny story....18 months, a diagnosis of unexplained secondary infertility, and a round of Clomid later....I finally got a positive test on Wednesday!! 😭😭😭😭

I literally could not even believe it. I don't even take pregnancy tests anymore really because I'm so sick of looking at negative tests. The only reason I tested was because I had started spotting heavily Saturday (which was 10dpo which really isn't unusual at all for me in my usual cycle), continued Sunday and into Monday, and then just - stopped. And that IS weird for me. So I took the test first thing in the morning Wednesday, and at about 2-3 minutes it looked CLEARLY negative, so I angrily tossed it. Then at 11, my dumbass decided to do a "hmmmm never hurts to double check! 🤡) dumpster dive, even though I know damn well enough to not read tests after the window. Sure enough, there were now two very pink lines. What the fuuuuuuuuuucccckkkk. In a panic, I tried to muster up some pee to take another frantic test. About 6 positive tests later, it finally sunk in. ❤️

I don't even think I know anyone on Tumblr anymore, but I have this need to document this pregnancy like I did my first.

39 weeks! (+1)

I had my 39 week appointment today! It was largely uneventful, especially compared to last week. I'm still measuring small, but after two ultrasounds they are attributing it to jelly bean having dropped so much. As the midwife pointed out today, she can't get any lower without being on the outside LOL. My cervix is still sitting squarely behind her head (I still can't really wrap my mind around that...), but I am just under a "stretchy" 3cm dilated and 90% effaced. I've been having contractions every 10-15 min for 36 hours now, and just really, really hope the end is in sight soon. She said it was actually a positive thing that I'm dilating so slowly but steadily, because it makes it more likely that my labor will be really efficient. And with her laying so low in my pelvis, while it's super ouchy and not fun now, hopefully it won't take much to push her out 👍 My favorite part right now is watching the expressions on people's faces when they say, "When are you due?" and I can cheerfully respond, "Next week!" 😂

I might be in the running for the grumpiest pregnant person ever. I've always been such a positive, upbeat person, but I am the reigning grump right now. I am really uncomfortable, painful, and feeling whiney, and extra grumpy that I feel whiney because I'm getting on my OWN nerves. I have the creepy crawly feeling today, lava-like reflux, and apparently I can't tell the difference between excruciating contractions and baby just getting comfy. Every. Single. Thing. Is. Annoying.

I sneezed a few minutes ago, and almost leaked a little. But I managed to hold it in, plus I was wearing a pantiliner because god knows I’ve learned my lesson there. Was so very proud of myself! But then, to my absolute horror, a few seconds later it was like FLOOD GATES UNLEASHED, COMPLETE AND TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL. I’ve never ran to the bathroom so fast in all my life.

I almost kind of hoped it was my water breaking, but nope, just bladder shenanigans.

On a less sentimental note, it has been a rough week. End of last week my URI moved more into my lungs and since my doctor was still pretty convinced it was viral, there wasn't diddly squat I could do about it except use the inhaler as needed and down (safely) Robitussin DM. Then over the weekend I started having increased Braxton-Hicks, about 4 an hour, and increased pelvic floor pain. Yesterday I had suspicious brown discharge, so I had another NST done. It was pretty uneventful. I only has one contraction while sitting there. Baby's heartbeat dropped briefly, but the nurse said it was most likely because she grabbed her cord. The contractions have lessened since yesterday, but the pain is really wearing me down. It literally feels like all the bones down there are bruised or broken. Like I got kicked squarely between the legs. By a triceratops. It hurts to sit, walk, change positions at all. The only time I really get relief is when I lay down, so I'm reclined in the bath right now to see if that helps. Apparently it's caused from a combination of the pelvic bones spreading and widening, and the baby's head beginning to descend into the pelvis. Either way, I'm keeping my legs crossed but predicting an early arrival by Baby Girl. Mostly because I just have a gut feeling, but also because I might be in denial a bit that I could be this miserable for EIGHT MORE WEEKS. 😨

I’m a pretty quiet person in real life. I “talk” to my baby a lot, but usually it’s just in my thoughts. I have to consciously make an effort to remember to talk out loud to her sometimes when I’m all by myself. So we had a nice “chat” this morning about the snow storm and how hopefully in a few years from now we will be making snowmen together, and throwing snowballs at Daddy :)

We are officially in every two week appointments! Had my 30 week appointment today (a few days late because of the San Diego trip). Baby girl’s heart beat was 153, and she spent the entire appointment and most of the day squirming like crazy. The doctor checked to see what position she is in, and somewhat surprisingly she is completely sideways! My doctor isn’t really concerned about her being head down until 36 weeks, but I guess I just kind of assumed she would be head down already! Other than that, we talked about my cramping and discomfort, but she reassured me that my pregnancy is going very, very well (rough start aside). I’ve had very minimal swelling (only a bit on the airplane yesterday), my blood pressure has stayed low, I’ve not had any unusual discharge or bleeding, my urine screens have mostly come back ok (minus the pesky dehydration), and the baby has consistently shown every sign of being healthy as a horse :) As much as I gripe and complain about the discomforts, I am really blessed to have had such a low-risk and healthy pregnancy, and what seems to be so far a perfectly healthy child <3

Pregnancy survey!

Pregnancy Survey 1. How old are you? 26 2. How old is the father? 30 3. Where did you meet? I was bartending at the golf course he worked at. 4. Are you married, engaged, just boyfriend and girlfriend, or not together? Married 5. How long have/had you been with the baby’s dad? We’ve been together for 6 years, married for 3. 6. Was it planned? Oh yes, more than most people think. See, my husband works so many hours in the golf season, but he gets tons of time off in the winter. So we planned our baby-making so that the due date would be between October-March. 7. What day was your baby conceived? Oh boy, that’s anyone’s guess. That whole month is a blur to me LOL. 8. When is your due date? January 20, 2016 9. What do you think your baby will look like (hair color, eye color, etc.). I’m pretty convinced she is going to come out with lots of dark hair, and have lots of chub. She will probably have the shape of my eyes, but daddy’s pretty blue :) 10. Do you plan to do all natural, C-section, or use the drugs? I want to labor naturally as long as I can stand it, but I’m not counting on that being very long LOL 11. Is this your first baby? Yes. 12. Do you have a midwife? No. 13. How did your parents react? Excited :) 14. When did you tell your parents? Pretty much right away. We are terrible at keeping exciting things to ourselves. 15. How did the father’s parents react and when did you tell them? Very surprised and excited :) Our announcement came just a few weeks after my SIL, so everyone was doubly excited! 16. Did you have to consider whether or not to keep it? Not even a little, she is very wanted. 17. Do you want to be a mother? I’ve wanted to be a mother as long as I can remember. 18. Are you excited? Very. 19. What was the first thing you said when you found out? "SHUT UP.” I was at the urgent care for a completely unrelated breathing issue, and we were kind of taking a break that month LOL 20. What made you think you could be pregnant at first? The positive test. And then two more after that. I was completely exhausted, but I chalked that up to a respiratory illness. 21. How did you actually find out you were pregnant? Went to an urgent care to get a breathing treatment, and they were all, “Are you pregnant or think you might be?” so they could figure out which meds to give me, and since we had long since stopped using protection I was like, “Well, I guess it’s possible...” Sure enough!! 22. Have you had an ultrasound yet? Just the one! None others are planned either, so long as everything keeps going smoothly, so we have to wait til she arrives to see her again :) 23. Have you heard the heart beat? We get to hear it every appointment via Doppler.  24. Do you know the sex, if so what is it? It’s a girl! 25. What sex were you hoping for? I have always wanted a girl, but I was 100% convinced it was going to be a boy, and surprisingly kind of hoped for that. But I am beyond thrilled to have a girl :D 26. Girls names? It’s a secret ;) 27. Boy’s name? Literally the only boy names we could agree on that we both liked, we already named our cats XD 28. Do the names you picked have special meaning/significance? The middle name, yes. 29. Have you started stocking up on supplies? I think (and I know I’ll realize later how terribly wrong I am haha) that we are almost completely ready, supplies-wise. 30. Have you felt the baby kick? Lordy, yes. Kick, punch, roll, backflip, spaz, karate chop, etc.... 31. When is the baby shower? It was in October. My SIL threw it for me, and we had to do it early enough that she would be able to, considering she is due 7 weeks before me :) 32. How many weeks/months are you? 30 weeks, 2 days  33. What do you look forward to the most? Holding her in my arms, being able to see her and care for her and comfort her. 34. Are you financially able to care for the baby? Yes.   35. Do you or the father have jobs? Both of us do. 36. What symptoms have you dealt with since the start of your pregnancy? Morning sickness, dehydration, low blood pressure, nasty sciatic pain, and lots of ligament pain.   37. What have your strongest, and most frequent cravings been? Fruit. ALL THE FRUIT. 38. Are you scared of miscarriage or still birth? Surprisingly, no. But I know myself well enough to not even think about it. If I dwell on it, my anxiety will latch onto it like a leech. 39. Do you wear maternity clothes? Good heavens, yes. Thank god for belly bands and maternity jeans! 40. Have you had to make any major changes in your life? I’ve had to learn to take much better care of myself physically. 41. Do you smoke or drink? Nope. 42. Are you taking prenatal vitamins? Yep. 43. Are you going to breastfeed or use formula? Breastfeed, ideally, though I’m fine with formula if need be. 44. Cloth or disposable diapers? Disposable. I love the idea and look of cloth, but realistically I don’t think we could keep up with it. 45. Have you had your glucose test, if so did you pass it? Yes, and thank goodness I passed! 46. Do you regret getting pregnant? Not even a little! 47. How much weight have you gained? As of today I’m right around 22lbs. 48. What was your weight before you got pregnant? 118 was my weight at my first OB appointment. I always bounced around between 110-120. 49. What do you miss? A life without heartburn, and being able to sleep on my back.  50. Have you felt your baby hiccup? Yes! Just this morning, actually :)

I realized recently I can no longer simply lay down, whether on the couch or bed. No, if I lay down, it’s like directing where a tree falls when cut down. I have to strategically flop and hope I land in a comfortable position.

Me: Can you please stop at McDonalds on your way home? I want an apple pie.
Chris: Ugh, I guess. Aren't we supposed to be eating dinner?
Me: I just want an apple pie.
Chris: That's not dinner.
Me: I don't want dinner. I don't feel very good today.
Chris: But you feel well enough for sugar?
Me: Ummmmmmm, yes. Just apple pie.
