A Book of Shadows is an instructional text for ritual magik in Pagan religions, especially Wicca. Originally only the high priestess would hold a copy of the book for her Coven, however now it is commonplace for each witch to write her own Book of Shadows, as a chronology of her experiences, spells, enchantments, and research in her craft.
