not to point out the obvious but capitalism doesn’t work or people would have the time and energy to sit down and put effort and even enjoy their hobbies?

ai gets trained on real people’s effort and most of these companies are stealing content that was posted online, for you to just sit there enter a shitty prompt and bam, you get a picture of a big titty girl with 8 fingers or a story that is made up of cliches and patterns.

answer me this what do you get out of doing nothing to achieve a mediocre result from ai when the joy of creating comes from the act of figuring it out and doing it yourself, honing your skills?

3. how you feel about your current WIP:

Yesterday afternoon I would have said not great, because the last third of it wasn't quite clicking. However, last night I made some tweaks because Gortash wasn't being enough of an asshole and Ta'av wasn't being enough of a brat and now I feel like it's SO CLOSE to being complete and publishable, and I desperately want to work on it instead of doing my actual, real life job.

9. start to finish, how long did it take you to write the last fic you posted?

I think my last story took about two weeks (our strange duet). Lately it feels like everything takes me two weeks, no matter what I think going in. Sometimes chapters take a less time, depending on the strength of my outline and whether or not there is smut.

23. pick three keywords that describe your writing:

Ohhh wow. I feel like other people would have a better sense than I do, honestly! Let's try... character-driven, emotional, banter-ful?

30. share a fic you’re especially proud of:

A House, A Home, my beloved. Set during Act 3, my Durge, Ta'av, tries to sort through mixed feelings and fragmented memories to figure out what she and Gortash meant to each other. It's moody, it's messy, it's hot. I've seen some posts lately talking about how there's not enough reaction in game to the Act 3 Durge reveals, and if you feel that way you should check out my Act 3 stories, including this one. :)

27. your favorite part of the writing process:

I think it's a tie between the brainstorming/daydreaming stage, where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts because it's all perfectly clear in my head, and the later stages of editing where it's all about fine-tuning and taking something from good to great (or decent to good, IDK).

28. your least favorite part of the writing process:

My least favorite is what I like to call The Doubt, which usually occurs during the early stages of editing but can also exist throughout the drafting process. The Doubt means that I start to think maybe everything I'm writing is terrible and people will think it's boring or repetitive or cringey or "too soft" or that no one will read it. The main way I cope is sending endless snippets to @verbenaa.

I can't resist a chance to post a snippet, and the follow up to our strange duet is coming along swimmingly, so: let's see what Ta'av is up to in ~1484-1485 DR, shall we? (series: sex and violence, one is just the other)

He blinked, and all of the flames extinguished at once. A prickling sensation crept down the back of his neck, and he knew: she was here. He leaned forward and then rose to his feet as silently as he could. She announced herself with a loud, dramatic sigh. “For someone who talks so much of manners and propriety, you’ve been remarkably rude, Enver Gortash.” The sudden lack of light had left him nearly blind, but he turned his head in the direction of her voice. The soft purr of her words came from somewhere near his bed. “I have been rude?” he said curtly. “Do explain.” The Bhaalspawn laughed; she was forever laughing at him, somewhere in the dark. “I gave you such thoughtful gifts, and you haven’t even thanked me.” He could hear the pout in her voice, and the image of her lips came to his mind unbidden. “Instead, you sent me angry notes.” He carefully moved towards her. “You should have responded the first time.” “I did respond,” she said, close enough that he felt her breath on his ear. Enver whirled and lunged for her, but his hands closed around empty air. She laughed again, her voice coming from further away.

A multi-Tav canon chapter fic

Chapter 12

Behind him, he could hear the thunderous booms of the construct's footsteps drawing closer. He was going to die, he was going to die and then he was going to be mashed to a meaty pulp and then thrown into the lava to be cooked off like a scrap of gristle at the bottom of Gale's stew pots- "Lever!" Carmela's voice thundered through the air, momentarily overriding his panic and sense of impeding doom, and he realised too late she'd magically compelled him with a Command. He might have snarled at her at any other time to leave him alone, because he wasn't a damned child who needed to be spoon-fed basic instructions or treated with kid gloves like she seemed determined to do; but the compulsion took over, and he threw himself at the lever at the far end of the platform and wrenched it with all his might. He glanced over his shoulder as he heard the ancient cogs and pistons groan with the weight of centuries, just in time to see Carmela barrel sideways at the automaton and physically tackle it under the forge hammer. The forge hammer. The forge hammer that he had just activated. The forge hammer that he had just activated because she'd ordered him to- "Wait," he started to say, or shout, but it didn't matter.

Hmmmmm. I have spent hours of my life on the BG3 and Forgotten Realms wikis and reading parts of Descent Into Avernus and Murder in Baldur's Gate... and I've also poured time in to researching real life things like national conventions and alarm over suspected cyberattacks for Deadly Ambition. It's all interesting to me but my most recent favorite was researching the Oasis Theater (for our strange duet).

25. besides writing, what are your other hobbies?

Singing (at times in choirs/a cappella groups but incessantly at home), playing D&D (currently in three campaigns), playing video games (obviously)!
