I know most of tumblr is thinking about the USA right now. but fuck the nz government right now too. tomorrow, the treaty principles bill, the 'worst, most comprehensive breach of Te Tiriti in modern times' is being introduced to parliament early, because there were activations planned country wide and the cowards decided to pull it forwards. fuck this government. a friend of mine had to go home early, crying. I've been in shock all day since it came out.

From here. If you think arachnids with long legs are just scary please watch this solifugid dig her nest (or try to) like SUCH a goofy little person creature. Look how she shoves dirt with her mouth and then gives it a little pat. Is she even making any progress?!
Fun fact: Camel Spiders aka Sun Spiders aka Solifuges are not true spiders because they lack the ability to produce webs, and their legs are arranged more like scorpions than spiders.
They’ve also been commonly attributed as having incredibly deadly venom, but actually the opposite is true. Their venom is pretty much harmless to humans and they rarely bite anyway. If you do get bit by one, the wound will likely cause you more problems than the venom.
And as a final fun fact, the Frostbite Spiders in Skyrim are heavily inspired by Solifuges.
More than that; they have no venom at all! Just very strong jaws for chomping up tough beetles, scorpions, centipedes, even lizards. They're the tyrannosaurs of arachnids, putting all the points they can into a huge heavy head and bite force!!
If you are tasty foodful centipede it has to be the frighteningst beast, but....they have this face about it:

Egypt will stand against all attempts aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause, whether through the forcible displacement of civilians or by rendering the Gaza Strip uninhabitable, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said at the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyad.
While on the surface this seems good, in reality, the Egyptian government has so far not substantially helped any Palestinians, preventing them from crossing the border, and prior to that, only letting them if they paid extortionate prices.
Hazem Tannera (@hazemfromgaza) is one such Palestinian who was able to get into Egypt because of his brain tumor, but had to leave behind his ten family members, including his mother and three nieces/nephews. While he is receiving treatment there, he hopes to provide for them until the border opens again and he can reunite with them. But donations have been coming in very slowly, and there have been none for the past three days. His minimal budget for food, what used to be £20-£30 a day, has now risen to £70 a day because of the inflating food prices.
Please help Hazem provide for his family during this time. This is extremely urgent.

I’m Ahmed Alanqar from Gaza, where we have lived our entire lives under siege, facing daily hardships and military actions. In October 2023, the conflict escalated catastrophically, destroying my newly built home, my neighborhood, my workplace, and robbing us of our sense of safety.
We are now homeless, desperately seeking a chance to build a new life away from the constant threat of bombings that have become our grim reality.
As we face this challenge, my children are always at the forefront of my mind: Zeina (8 years), Eileen (7 years), Yamen (5 years), and Ronza, who is just four months old and was born during the war.
My wife Dina and I dream of offering them better opportunities than we ever had, a future filled with security and happiness. 💜
Ronza: A Symbol of Innocence Amidst the Destruction 💝
Every time I look at Ronza, I see pure innocence in her eyes, unaware of the terror that surrounds us. She smiles and plays, oblivious to the danger and destruction around her. I can't help but wonder: How long will this innocence last? How long can we protect her and her siblings from this reality? I know that I want them to have a life they deserve, free from fear and filled with love and opportunity.
This Campaign is a Call for Hope, to Guide Our Children Toward a Better Tomorrow ✨
This call is for all who believe that every child deserves a life of dignity and safety. Your contribution is not just a donation; it’s an act of shaping a new life for Ronza and her siblings, ensuring they grow up in a world filled with hope, away from the horrors of war.
Thanks to Your Support, We Have Made Progress, but We Still Need Your Help 💖🕊️
Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised €77,630 of our €100,000 goal. Your support has shown us that humanity is still alive and strong. Your help is a light of hope that we’re building our children's future on.
We kindly ask for you to continue supporting us by donating or sharing our story. Together, we can ensure that our children have the safe, bright future they deserve, filled with peace and opportunities.

Our dreams have been destroyed, and we have nothing left...😞
🫂You're our last hope in this life🫂
I'm Lama from Gaza, I'm 24 years old, and my husband is Mohammad... We got married in 2022 in a house full of love and happiness. Our house was beautiful, we chose everything in it carefully... We were waiting for the end of the day to go there after a tiring day of work, but the occupation did not leave us. 😔😭💔
This house was bombed with all hatred. Here we are after the genocide. We have nothing... We lost our house, our work, and our car.😭😞
We were displaced to Rafah in a tent that could not accommodate 5 people, and after the displacement from Rafah, we were displaced to Mawasi Khan Yunis again. It was a very difficult period... but now we are in Mawasi Khan Yunis in a tent that does not protect us from the cold of winter or the heat of summer.😞😭
This is our tent, its floor is made of cardboard, as you can see, and I suffer from severe eczema due to the pollution of the air and the materials used, and the medicine is very expensive.😭💔
Urgent: My husband needs a very necessary operation and medication. Please help my husband in order for his health to improve. He is in pain.😞😭🫂🙏🙏
Help us and donate to us. You are our last hope and the lifeline of this life. 🫂🙏

We can’t bring back the dead. Our days pile on top of each other, one after the other, and each month passes as though it’s a week. Everything passes us by as if we are in a coma from this world. When will we wake up? When will our days and dreams that stole our ambitions return?
but you can still make a difference to our lives. you can bring us hope 🙏🏻 vetted
married, and I have a child that I had two months ago.
I have lost many members of my family, including my father, brother, and sister, as a result of the war on my country, Gaza.
I used to work as a cleaner at Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital, where I was injured by the bombing two weeks ago.
I can't support my family and my little child is malnourished.
I now live with my wife, mother, and son in an unlivable tent.
I can't work, I can't provide treatment for my sick mother, and I fear for my child's future. I want him to live a normal life.
I am unable to protect my child and my mother. I hope that you will help us, save us, and save my child from this war. Please help us. We cannot escape this tragedy.
After I got hurt, I can't work to provide the simplest things like food and healthy water, everything here is expensive, other than that, my baby needs care greatly, he needs formula (because he does not breastfeed from his mother naturally due to health problems in his mother)
- Every day, my baby needs formula
- Needs diapers
- Needs winter clothes
- It also needs a place to live in to settle in that is livable and has no diseases or insects
I hope you donate to us
Everyone who donates $20 will save my child and save us all. I hope you will help us.
Donate even if it is a little
