He died in 506 F.A. during the Second Kinslaying attacking King Dior of Doriath, the son of Beren and Lúthien, in an attempt to reclaim a silmaril and keep his oath.

No matter how beloved, none of these sons has unstained hands. They’re all kinslayers. So before you get all googly-eyed, remember, they kill their own. These are bad men. Yes, I know! Maedhros is awesome, but still...
It’s a lot of names to keep straight. This can be especially challenging if you are unfamiliar with The Silmarillion. It can be particularly confusing in esoteric fanfics, that only use their Quenya mother or father names, without identifying them in any other way, instead of their more common Sindarized names. So, to keep it simple, I’m sticking to The Silmarillion names.
There are three C names, two A names, and two M names. It is seven boys in total. As you read or listen to The Silmarillion, it all runs together and gets confusing. So, here’s a very simple rule-set to know which ones are which. You only have to remember three things:
