53. “That wasn’t very subtle.”
Here you go my dear.
"That wasn't very subtle." Hen says as she slides up next to Eddie, peeling the blue nitro gloves off of her hands. "I have no idea what you're talking about." Eddie replies, his jaw still tense as his eyes continue to track the man he definitely hadn't been glaring at almost thirty seconds ago. "I get it," She shrugs, "You're the best friend. You hold a grudge against the ex." Eddie's eyes flicker away from Tommy as he talks with his team and over to Hen. There's a knowing twinkle in her eye. "But maybe tone it down a little?" He's back to glaring at Tommy, especially because he's now looking in Buck's direction. Thankfully Buck isn't paying attention, instead he's focused on talking with the patient's daughter. Crouched down to her level, hands waving around as he tells her some fantastical story no doubt. There's a smile on her tear stained face, and the mother in the gurney is smiling at the two of them as well while Chimney finishes patching her up. "Why?" Eddie asks, crossing his arms against his chest. Tommy is turning towards Buck now, like he's going to walk over to him. Something ugly roars inside of his chest. "Because you're long past grudging-best-friend and creeping into he's-mine-back-off possessiveness." "He broke up with Buck." Eddie grits out. Tommy is heading towards Buck as he stands. "He doesn't get to--" He doesn't finish what he's saying because he's stalking over towards Buck, determined to make it there before Tommy. Buck's eyes light up when they see Eddie and his smile shifts from friendly into something more intimate. Eddie's heart flutters while the green beast inside of him purrs happily. "Isn't she cute?" Buck says as soon as Eddie is close enough, gesturing towards the little girl that is skipping alongside her mother as Chimney pushes her towards the ambulance. "Not as cute as you." Eddie says without thinking. There's a small noise from their right and both turn to see Tommy standing there. He's got an odd mixture of surprise, frustration, and resignation on his face. Eddie still doesn't understand why he's here at this call. But he hates it. Especially as Buck startles, like he hadn't expected his ex-boyfriend to come over and acknowledge him. "Can we help you, Kinard?" Eddie asks. Okay, yes, he's not being subtle. But he can use the excuse Hen gave him - Buck is his best friend. He's allowed to hold a grudge. Tommy's eyes flicker between the two and then he holds his hands up and takes a step back. "Actually, no. Good job, guys." Then he spins on his heel and walks away. Eddie turns his back on him instantly, focusing instead on Buck. "You good?" Buck watches Tommy for a moment before he shifts his attention to Eddie once more. His smile returns slowly, blooming gently across his face. "You called me cute." Eddie blushes and ducks his head, "Shut up." "Hmmm...nope. You called me cute." Rolling his eyes, Eddie shoves Buck's shoulder but quickly curls his fingers around the muscle and starts to pull him back to their waiting team.

The Sweet Spot was nestled on the side of a mountain, a world away from the urban expanse of Los Angeles where they all once resided. Opening a bakery was the start of a new beginning. Then, a year ago, the emergence of a magical portal altered the course of their lives forever.
Within a month, the mythical patrons had surpassed the sleepy town's usual crowds, prompting Eddie and Buck to transition their bakery into an evening-only establishment, open from Thursday to Sunday.
Magical portals to other realms should have put them on the evening news, maybe even earned them visits by swarms of scientists and government officials. But no one seemed to care.
for @spotsandsocks :)

This is the biggest proof they watch the show with their eyes closed. Buck spent MONTHS living in Abby's apartment hoping and praying she would come back, and then they framed it as if Buck was still hung up on her in season 3 over a year after she left him. Saying Buck didn't care about Abby leaving is insanity. Buck kept waiting. He clings, that's what he does. What are you talking about???????
maybe for funsies we should all comment on 911's latest post and tell them how much we're all enjoying buck's current storyline! :)
#snatched #they are best friends your honor
kennethchoi_: Still Got It after forty years!!! I love cardboard. #breakdance
also highlight of the episode. eddie shitting on gerrard the way he almost certainly wanted to all along but couldn't because it would have made things harder on the team. what was that about loving authority and falling in line i can't hear you.
well, i’d still take you.
you think so?
i know.
literally calling back so loudly to buck hanging from that ladder and the 118 has nothing to say? no reaction? to seeing a firefighter hanging limply overhead? when they saw one of their own, their best friend, their brother, their son, hanging like that when he was DEAD? when it was his CORPSE hanging there? now they're seeing that image again and there's no reaction no beat of recognition???? 911 you're playing the greatest hits but you're not singing along and it's weirding me out
