Time Slice by Richard Silver

The “Time Slice” Project started in New York City, originally as a book idea. I would go out at sundown and photograph iconic NY skyscrapers. I finished with 38 different buildings. When I looked deeper into the cost of book production, it just wasn’t economically feasible to do a book. With a few different ideas of how to portray the photos I came up with the Sliced idea.

Each photo consists of usually 36 photos taken at approximately 30 minutes before sunset, through sunset and 30 minutes after the sun sets. Ending up with anywhere from 40-60 photos I figure out which photos I want to use for the final photo. I do my adjustments working in Lightroom and Photoshop, and then line them up in the order from day to night, left to right. My intention with the project is to show the light of day turning into the dark of night in one single photograph.

ABERCROMBIE & FITCH FLAGSHIP STORES - Selldorf Architects

Selldorf Architects designed flagship stores for Abercrombie & Fitch, across the United States, Europe, and Asia. In keeping with the client’s desire to attract a fashion-conscious clientele, while also referencing the company’s heritage, the firm created designs that are a modern reflection of their signature style, customized to each location.

All stores carry certain common elements including a central unifying staircase, wall murals throughout, a denim display bar, and dramatic lighting—but the detailing and articulation of each store is specific to the context of its location. The first store, a 30,000 sf, four-story space on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue, has a steel and glass façade that reinforces the character of the original building. Behind the façade, wood louvered shutters create a strong visual identify for the flagship, as well as heightening expectations about what lies inside. The interiors suggest tradition with dark wood, bronze fixtures, and a glass and iron staircase, reminiscent of an old library. The New York flagship was followed by stores in Los Angeles, London, Milan, Paris, and Tokyo.

Architectural Cycle Prints

100copies is the brainchild of Singapore Creative Director Thomas Yang. An avid cyclist, he decided to combine two of his passions - bicycles and art - into 100copies. All of the products you see here are original designs created by him and are limited to, as the name suggests, 100 copies. Each piece of work will be watermarked, labeled with the title and edition number. As such, no two copies are ever completely identical.

If you would like to contact 100copies with suggestions, comments or anything else that might go through your mind, please drop us an email. Thank you for stopping by.
