Since I finished the ONQR AU, I've been going back and editing the core duology to create a manuscript for a personal print copy. It's the longest thing I've ever written and I wanted it on my bookshelf. Anyone else who'd like to have this series in book form is welcome to print your own copy from the same files (formatted for a 6" x 9" book, 788 pages) linked below. I used Barnes & Noble Press, but there are a bunch of print-on-demand book services out there. Of course, no profit can legally be made on this book (not even by me), but as long as it's a personal or gift copy, print away! 🤗
(If you'd prefer to place an order for the finished book through me rather than going through the hassle of printing it yourself, I can order and have it shipped to you at cost. Just shoot me a message.)

If anyone wants the book in the picture, I'd like to give it away. It was my proof copy, so I made some minor edits to the final manuscript that it doesn't reflect. Most noticeably, the spine still says "A Divine Comedy Duology" rather than "ONQR." But it's 99.9% close to the final version, and you can always read the final version on AO3.

This little interlude story is now finished! I tried to have it done by the end of the Vytal Festival, but real life always interferes in my fiction.

An update on these guys! I finally managed to get the cheaper multicolor plastic material (just called HD Multi-Color) enabled in my Etsy shop! Unfortunately it's still not cheap but it's about 1/3 – 1/4 the cost of Multi-Color Polyjet and it still looks & feels nice. I hope you'll check it out if you're interested!
Another update on these! Shapeways has added an even cheaper multi-color material called Full-Color Nylon that's about half the price of HD Multi-Color. It is the cheapest multi-color material available (~$16 for small size), but currently it is a Shapeways exclusive (not available through my Etsy shop). If you're interested, you can preview it over in my Shapeways shop!
Realized I forgot to update with a final product shot. This is the Full-Color Nylon material, which is now available in both my Shapeways and Etsy shops! The texture is slightly grainy, like cardboard, but still very sturdy. It is the cheapest multi-color material available, at about $16 for the small size. Check it out if you're interested!

Hello hello, if I may present for your consideration: the song Not My Own by Caleb Hyles as an Oz and Roman song? I think it fits for them both in lyrics and the story/sentiment of it (though a bit less so in vibes lol). Possibly also Qrow, thinking about it.
Ooh yeah, I can hear it in the lyrics. I think it especially gets at the core of Roman's character. He used to want so many things before Ozpin, but once Oz takes his freedom away, he realizes that's the only thing he wants (possibly at any cost).
I love music recs, thank you! (As a side note, I also happen to be a fan of Caleb Hyles & Jonathan Young's cover of "The Other Side" from The Greatest Showman 🤘)

I spent too much time on this outline of the parallels to The Divine Comedy in My Own Worst Enemy but I am a huge nerd so…there you have it.
My best hope is that this interests, like, three (3) people. If you’re one of those people, you have my eternal love. Bless 🙌
[Disclaimer: I am not religious. I’ve just read a lot of Christian texts and find them inspiring as archetypal stories.]
In going back and editing this series, I realized that Neo is Beatrice:
• Dante’s childhood love and fixation, she represents a past that he desperately tries to hold onto. But he idealizes her to the point that she becomes an untouchable image of who she really was. Her eyes are a “mirror” and she is a “reflection” of the divine.
• While Virgil physically guides Dante through Hell, Beatrice is his guiding star. She protects him from harm from on high and is the reason he undertakes the perilous journey. He literally walks through fire for her.
• Her presence is powerful throughout the poem, but she never speaks in Inferno.
