Little guys to pin on whatever your heart desires!
The Buff-Tip Moth: the resting posture, shape, and color/pattern of the buff-tip moth allows it to mimic a broken birch twig; the moth's buff-colored head and the patches on its hindwings even resemble freshly-snapped wood
It also definitely tends to look like there's a weird little smiley face in the setae surrounding the moth's head, which is arguably even more striking but for some reason none of the sources I dug up on this species seem to mention that weirdness.
The buff-tip moth (Phalera bucephala) can be found throughout the British Isles, mainland Europe, and Asia, with its range extending into Eastern Siberia.
A very famous moth, the African death's head hawkmoth :) Named after the skull shape on their back, though honestly i dont care about the skull, i care about the fact that they can SQUEEK!!!
I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
Popular culture was robbed when it was decided that Dracula turns into a bat when it is allegedly actual authentic Romanian folklore that vampires can turn into these.
At one point in Dracula they mention that vampires can control moths. What I want to know is: Why the hell is no one making moth vampires!!!
Turning into moths instead of bats, sleeping in cocoons, fluffy half-transformed vampires with big moth wings and inhumanly dark eyes. Moths are even (mostly) nocturnal!
