Putting aside the whole fantasy of Jensen as producer in and of itself? As well as the usual delusion they have that if they just keep SAYING that scene can ONLY be seen as romantic that magically makes it true?
They've literally asked Jensen about the potential followup to Castiel's yammering speech directly at least twice post-canon. I think the first time was one of the Jibcons, where Jensen said something about a hug and then joked about Dean asking what the hell was up with that goodbye before laughing and saying, no really Dean would just say good to see you ol buddy, how's it going pal? At the last Purcon, he said there was nothing to be resolved because Dean 'took in' the statement of 'one of his best friends/allies' and nothing more needed to be said. Every time the subject has come up, Jensen has consistently used platonic terms to talk about Dean's relationship with Castiel from Dean's end - friend, best friend, buddy, pal, brother in arms, brother, family, ally.
Not only is that what he's directly said when asked over and fucking over again? But if he really wanted Dean to reciprocate that nonsense eleventh hour ambiguously queerbait-y bullshit Misha and Berens cooked up as a romantic thing? He could have done it in the show itself during that stupid scene while Misha was making clown faces. Or he could have shown literally any interest in Bobby's statement Castiel was working with Jack on heaven rather than being in The Empty. He even more easily could have made it a thing in The Winchesters where his actual choice was to make (so far as I'm aware) literally zero mention of the angel even existing.
But that's not what they want to hear. So they continue telling each other weird reinterpreted distortions of things he's said, collecting super sneakret clues, and telling a few outright lies to explain how the REAL Jensen is secretly pining away for the opportunity to make D/C canon but keeps not doing it quite yet ... for reasons! But soon! It has to happen!
As they have been doing for, I don't even fucking know how long it's been now. Suffice it to say a batshit crazy amount of time.
