Oh wow thank you so much! It always makes me so happy when people say they love her and that they’re reading JWIN!
During the campaign: She always felt on edge around him. Confused because they were supposed to be close friends but he clearly was holding her at a distance. It hurt her and made her feel disconnected from the team. Like she had done something wrong. Or she wasn't good enough.
After: She hates him. Yes, she chose the Solovetsky ending but there’s more story there (spoilers). And even though they weren’t actually friends she still can’t shake a feeling of deep betrayal. However, she is mostly focused on her own redemption and unfortunately for her, he still has a part to play. And down the line, it’s doubly unfortunate when she becomes close friends with Aleks (@alypink ‘s oc) and realizes Aleks and Adler are together. They however remain close and Mila does like to remind Aleks she can do so much better.
During the campaign: It was like a breath of fresh air when Mason was around. She could handle the loneliness that came with not being accepted by the rest of the team for sure. But things were so much better with Mason. None of the weird tension. It didn’t feel like he was watching her every move. He treated her with respect and even joked around with her.
After: At first she didn’t trust him. She didn’t know who to trust. He did eventually manage to convince her he was on her side. And Mason is her greatest advocate. Through it all, despite his hatred of the Soviets, they developed a strong bond. Because who else would understand what she was going through? And yes, a part of her realizes that some of this is Mason trying to make things right because of what happened to him, but she can understand that. They're good friends and he is one of the few people she knows she can trust.
