what makes me actually boil with rage is the way it’s framed as though jacob & the cullens have an even rivalry and like, he hates them just as much as they hate him, but like… jacob is a lower class kid who lives on the rez, the cullens live in a plantation home on private property. jacob calling alice a leech is an insult, but alice calling him a mongrel calls into power and privilege, ya know. like am i supposed to honestly think jake making blonde jokes to rosalie (which is certainly sexist and uncalled for) is on the same level as her serving him food in a dog dish? him seeing the cullens as bloodsuckers and murderers is just like, incorrect and unfair, but them seeing him as uncivilized and over-aggressive has implications deeply rooted in the oppression of his people

I’M NOT DONE jake’s whole life is literally turned around BECAUSE OF THEIR PRESENCE. the wolf transformation is triggered by the vampires in forks, their presence stole jacob's teenage years from him. wouldn't you be resentful? AND HE LITERALLY HAS TO STAY AROUND WHITEBOY MCSPARKLE FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY?? he imprints on an immortal which means he’ll be immortal and bella is all “so you can be with us forever jake hooray my family is finally complete ^_^” JACOB ALREADY HAS A FAMILY?? i don’t care that this white girl decided her parents will be fine without her and she doesn’t have a single other living family member or friend to tie her to human life, JACOB HAS A FATHER AND 2 SISTERS THAT HES SUPPOSED TO JUST ?? WHAT, LEAVE BEHIND THE NEXT TIME THE CULLENS DECIDE THEYVE BEEN IN FORKS TOO LONG??? not to mention all his brothers in the pack, and leah who he was planning to run away with, and emily who always extended her home to him, and sue who has been a close family friend since before jake was born, and presumably everyone else in this community that jake has been in all his life. this whole jake being frozen at 16 (later reaching 18) for the rest of time thing is presented as this miraculous solution & happy ending for the white girl protagonist but jake literally lost EVERYTHING because of it, and i’m supposed to just accept that he’s happy to do it because the newborn baby of his high school crush is the most important thing in his life now??????? PLEASE

the cullens literally destroy his life from the ground up and are rude & confrontational throughout it all, I CANT BELIEVE HIS ENDING IS TO JOIN THEM

me in my room giving a speech about how they purposely removed important key traits about jacob from the new moon movie that made him a better person in the book like how he told bella he would be her friend if that’s what she wanted but he would wait forever to be a romantic partner for her if she ever decided that but he wasn’t trying to push her to be in a relationship and how in the book bella doesn’t have to tell him that she doesn’t like music anymore he just figured that out on his own and in the book he doesn’t bring up edward to her randomly like that scene where he talks about “that cullen guy” and her smile fades that doesn’t happen in the book he literally avoids mentioning edward because he can tell that would make her really upset and he knows her so well and he’s a great friend to her and even if you don’t ship bella and jacob together you end up loving his character while you read new moon and-

I don't think many people know this piece of trivia but in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse there's that scene where Jacob tells Edward "I'm hotter than you." which has a double meaning of warmer and better looking, fun right?

Well in czech the word for hot/warm does NOT mean good looking, it is in fact a euphemism for gay. If you call someone warm/hot you're actually calling them gay.

So in the czech version of Twilight Eclipse, for the sentence to work, they HAD TO use the word warm/hot so what Jacob says has a second meaning of "I'm gayer than you."

It is just as funny to hear that as you think it is, especially out of context

I think other than the obvious gross grooming vibes and creepiness of marrying the child of your high school crush of Jacob/Resume, the other part that always bothered me about the ending of BD is that Jacob is going to be immortal now too.

Like nothing about Jacob ever struck me as desiring immortal life, in fact, many of the Wolf Pack seemed to cringe at the idea of an immortal life and would be happy to see the Cullens leave so they could get back to aging. Leah, for one, would be able to have children if her biological body started to age again, and if he didn’t age, Sam would outlive Emily and live alone with his imprint dead, and eventually witness his children die if they didn’t get the gift/curse of being able to shapeshift.

But Jacob being immortal feels so wrong to me. He is sunny and warm and full of life and a love of nature and his pack. Immortality in mammals is unnatural and off-putting, it feels wrong for him to be immortal. He has family and friends who will actually die, and he will be stuck with the Cullens, his new family, his natural enemies, forever. (On the note of SM’s reproductive rules, shouldn’t Résumé’s inability to age mean she had the Leah issue and cannot have children?)

It feels so cruel to make him immortal. It feels like a ridiculous joke. Yet another way to let Bella have no consequences and a happy ending. He deserves better
