FLAP CHILD STATES;

every CAVITY in my BODY is EXCEEDINGLY SMALL…

I am prone to

EARACHES

SINUS INFECTIONS

DIFFICULT BOwel movements

Every little warmth you sent skittering across the firmament to me propped me up like so many twigs or toothpicks. Even when they snapped and pricked I was thankful, though I may not always say so.

Do you have any ibuprofen, or a can of coke?

The Hirudo (or Leechfolk)

(Art is not mine, artist posted it when I was discussing this race on /tg/ months back and refused to share their name and said they did not have a page where they posted their work. I would be very grateful if someone could point me to the artists page if they ended up making one)

A while back on /tg/ I was helping to create various collective homebrews with the other anons there. While nothing concrete came from it one of my biggest contributions was the Hirudo or Leechfolk. Resembling mundane leeches in much the same way Thri-Kreen or Formains resemble mantids and ants respectively. Considered one of the less popular aspects of the “Bugworld” setting I still have a soft-spot in my heart for them and knew they’d be better appreciated here. So I’ve written up what I remember and can track down of them as a common use race for D&D 5E but they can be adapted for any system really.

Feel free to use them for your games and characters as long as I, Justin Wiysel, am credited as their creator. I don’t plan to make any profit from these, just don’t want to see someone else profiting off my work that I want to be free for all to enjoy.

(This one is done by @edspear who did a lot of concept art for them and the Bugworld)

The Hirudo, or Leechfolk to most commoners, are a typically jovial and empathetic race who are becoming well-known as healers of great skill. Dwelling in swamps, along waterways, the coasts, and anywhere sufficiently wet they are still a relatively rare sight away from their villages and cities but more and more are hearing the call to adventure. Their unique skill-sets make them valued members of their groups, ranging from natural healers, skilled alchemists, and deceptively capable combatants.

I remember drawing so much for the original Leechfolk threads. I have to admit  my guys were more humanoid.

And Kind of stupid cute...

The old blood sausage nursing stuff.

Kind of cute stuff...

Silly reactions.

And the various wasters mages and etc.

I think this is one of the first doodles.

The Leech God.

and Leech priest.

Seriously I love these little guys from Nier: Automata. Their round little heads to their waddly little feet, to the sheer variety of combinations between waddly little feet, stompy big feet to sensibly proportioned limbs. They just remind me of an old robby the robot toy I had as a kid. Wound up and everything.

18th The Mycea

From slave to friend, from tool to person. From death to life, from living to dead. The cycle of rebirth is what Mycea stands for. At first a slave to elves, abandoned to her fate to die in a foreign land, a tool discarded once the job was completed, the Cyclops however could not stand to see her in pain. What was at first merely gifts of goodwill from the hearts of Cyclopes around her, eventually grew to an effort to change the very land around her, revitalize it so she may not suffer. For the Cyclops were not ones to abandon friends. From a dying waste to a fertile breadbasket the land was changed and reborn, as Mycea bounced back from the brink of death. And as the Cyclops did for Mycea the Cyclops should do for all, help strangers as you would friends, for goodwill shall always forge new bonds.

Represents: Rebirth, Goodwill, Love, Harvests, Nature, Plants, Ladylike or Polite behavior (at Mycea’s request),

Reversed: Decay, Abuse, Rot, Selfishness, Inappropriate Behavior, faux pas,

Element: Earth/Substance

13th The Parrat

A rash decision is a poor decision. Just as when the early Cyclops infested a different land with Parrats, with no regards to the consequences, and just as when the later Cyclops attacked them with impunity, a rash decision always lead us to regret and often, embarrassment. A Cyclops may find himself pressured, and may need to make a choice quickly, but it must never be done rashly. However this is a lesson many learn from experience and not from wisdom. We thought we were acting quickly, when we attempted to make the Parrats smarter, but we were acting rashly. Their intelligence and mischievous nature lead us to anger time and time again, and in this anger we made a terrible choice.

Represents: Mischief, Luck (Bad and/or Good), Cleverness, embarrassment, unintended consequences, Parrats, Kenku

Reversed: Anger, Mistake, Strife, Murder, Rashness, foreboding disaster.

Element: Earth/Emotion
