Saying that the Amazon fires are being caused by Climate Change takes blame away from the actual culprits.
It’s the dry season right now, which makes it easier for fires to start and to propagate. Big corporations see this as an opportunity to hire people who’ll go and set fires for them, it has been this way for years... But this year’s fire has been incredibly devastating.
This is because the best solution we have against these paid pyromaniacs right now are teams and organizations who watch over the forest, and a lot of these organizations are supposed to receive funds from the government and/or public donations. Bolsonaro’s administration, however, has been cutting the funds and resources it gives towards these organizations. Bolsonaro enabled these fires to be set and he still chooses to accuse these same organizations of being the ones who purposely set fire to the Amazon in order to “make him look bad” (sorry to say, but you don’t need help looking any worse).
I personally don’t think Climate Change played that big of a role here, although that’s more up for speculation, but one must keep in mind that the continuous destruction of this forest will make fighting the current Climate Crisis much harder since the Amazon is integral for both us as a species and for Earth as a life-sustaining planet.
