OP mentioned Edward is an accelerationist, and I think that's a good way to describe his political motives, but then OP also said accelerationism is typically right wing... And it made me itch. It's not. It's so unbelievably not.

Accelerationism is extremely prevalent within both far-left and far-right circles, equally as much, I would say. In fact? The term was coined by the left. Every early accelerationist theorist was a leftist.

You may associate it with right wingers because fascism is on the rise within the conservative side, while a lot of people who consider themselves left wing still aren't revolutionaries by any stretch of the word. Of course the average socdem isn't going to be an accelerationist, they still have faith in the system.
